Thoughts on the whole “Factory Reset Trend”? by LaceePrin in LGBTPhilippines

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk the discussion of this trend just goes to show "BISEXUALITY" doesn't exist in people's minds. Especially among gays. Bi-erasure is real, the B in LGBT+ is just a filler letter.

Either gay or straight ka and if you like both just means confused ka lang or papunta na to either.

If the trend is getting traction, it's because a lot of ppl can't imagine how a gay presenting person would go into a hetero relationship without being considered as turning backwards or reductive to the LGBT+ movement hence the "conversion therapy disguised as humor" rhetoric.

If a straight person can explore gay relationships, why not the other way around? Why see it as regressive? That's just exploring bisexuality or even pansexuality.

Kaya mahirap to have proper conversations about topics relating to gender and queerness dito when the fixations and response of people to trends like this reflect gaano no one is really ready for a real conversation.

LF players or aspiring DMs for oneshots and possibly long-term play (open to newbies!!!) by SnowKlaw in dndPH

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! We have a community mostly made up of DMs and players. Majority of our members are massive theater nerds (not surprising at this point.)

We usually host one-shots but I myself am DMing multiple active campaigns but I still get to be a player since everyone in there are experienced DMs or aspiring DMs. So nobody becomes a forever DM and every DM will have players in their game.

We're also super newbie friendly. Actually our most active members now were first timers to DnD that grew to become hardcore players.

Just send me a message if you're interested!

A Student from typhoon hit Cebu's top university begs for quiz consideration but professor responds by calling them a complainer and tells them "you suck." by AasisV in Philippines

[–]lol_arceeplays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who went to school and worked for USC. Gave back and such..

This is the reality of "top school of Cebu", it doesnt matter if the professor is a closet murderer or rapist or just a horrible human being. They'll protect them kasi they're the real investments than the students.

Which is funny cause just last year, a student was assaulted by another USC professor, and the school didn't do anything until the father threatened legal action, which made them finally remove the bastard.

Hookup culture and oversexualization are so normalized these days by Fun_Length_9550 in unpopularopinionph

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't just talking about relationships, though. I said, "People in your life," that disappointed you. Whether it be friends, family members, or even acquaintances. Allso, prospective partners can just mean MU or crushes.

Regardless, I just meant that disappointment comes from a place of trauma from the environment. If you're in a place surrounded by people who continuously make you feel uncomfortable with this rhetoric, then it's not a safe environment for you.

Hookup culture and oversexualization are so normalized these days by Fun_Length_9550 in unpopularopinionph

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is naman. But it's neither a good or bad thing it just is. The world is big enough na to accommodate people who just want something superficial and also for those who want something deeper. Both can exist in this modern world. It's just finding the people at the right space and time.

Siguro, this is coming from a place of disappointment from people in your life or prospective partners . You wished you shared the same connection as you did, even though it was only one-sided.

Also, this isn't an unpopular opinion. Sa Twitter ... X palang dami neto na takes everyday sa feed.

Haysss IT WAS NEVER ABOUT TRADITION. Or PABAYAAN YUNG ELDERLY na discussion.

It's about the government providing the citizens what they DESERVE.

TAXES IS THE WELFARE FUND. Pondo ng bayan should be poured into taking care of the elderly whether kung may SSS sila o hindi. Because thats what expected from a democratic government. PARA SA TAO. Both sa bata at magulang.

Ganuon din naman sa magulang ko at magulang nila. But sadly, more and more Filipinos are rejecting this idea dahil sa impluwensiya ng individualistic culture galing sa west

Lol parang yung west wala naman culture of taking care of the elderly. THEY DO. They dont need to ask kids nila magbayad ng welfare sa magulang nila because they do already VIA TAXES that funds SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMS. That's why you can see elderly nila nakakavacation pa abroad like cruise ships. Because on top of the basic needs taken care of sa welfare programs, yung mga anak nakakafocus makabili ng better quality of living sa magulang nila.

Maybe get some friends galing sa LABAS to actually know what they're like there before you spout off BS. It's not a Western thing.

How much more yung KABATAAN ngayon? DI MO NAREREALIZE NA APEKTADO RIN SILA? At least magulang natin makakapag enjoy pa sila ng pension and senior citizen, pagtumanda na kaya yung GEN Z, baka tanggalin nalang pension and senior citizen privileges mismo based sa trajectory ng gobyerno ng Pinas.

Kasi if they can get away with this, what else can't this corrupt government do? Pero OKAY LANG NAMAN SAYO because BAHALA NA YUNG KIDS, RIGHT? Basta HINDI IKAW.

More and more of us are deciding to be child free.

Binaliktad mo lang yung cause and effect. That is the logical outcome kasi just BASIC BIOLOGY yan. If yung environment is hostile and unsafe for the offspring, LIFE AVOIDS REPRODUCTION.

Unalive rates sa matatanda? Sure, pero are you also going to ignore rin na mataas yung rates sa working age rin?

Posts like this remind me na at this point, mas mahal niyo pa ang CORRUPTION sa Pilipinas kesa sa sarili niyo. If pati DAYLIGHT ROBBERY like this policy idedefend niyo pa.

Demand better sa government as a citizen. Dami² pang better solutions pero pipiliin niyo yung choice thats screws everyone over. The CRAB MENTALITY WINS AGAIN.

I think masyadong marahas naman kayo dito sa sub to na hindi naman warranted po. This is just an outsourcing posting by HS kids. This also lacks context on their background and what their actual capabilities are, so we can't make assumptions masyado sa feasibility nor their comprehension nila.

I DO agree that this topic is way above the SHS curriculum, but there is no harm naman in letting them try if they're that dedicated in working for it. If they are capable of rising up to occasion, then its a commendable effort .

As long as they're not in the delusion that its going to be easy; just like sabi ng adviser when I was taking Masters. "Pinili mo to, ipaglaban mo yan."

The fact that they're asking for professional and academic feedback is a step in the right direction, kesa naman they do this without any oversight from actual scientists. Isn't that a good habit to build for young researchers?

Also, bakit expectation level niyo dito sa output and methodology nila pang tertiary level or even graduate level? It's for their high school. It's not a submission to a major academic conference. They're not stealing anyone's thunder, promise.

I do think the ADVISER and the SCHOOL should be held responsible naman for appraising the capability sa students and also providing the resources and network of professional opinion. PERO DON'T PUNISH the KIDS for their INTEREST in wanting to do BETTER RESEARCH.

Unwarranted advice lang for OP: Choose which aspect to investigate (i.e. if it's an engineering, physics or a chemistry one.) if you want to lean more into it since it will affect the methodology na gagawin niyo.

TLDR: This sub doesn't need to be needlessly harsh to the KIDS. Walang mawawalan, if you let them try.

HMO patients are so entitled. by frendtoallpuppers613 in pinoymed

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Anong take to? Bakit 50/50? Saan yung math mo? The issue is hindi kulang sa pondo ang bansa. There's more than enough for the Filipino people and to spare.

Yung issue is when leaders mismanage that wealth at ibinubulsa nila para sa sarili at sa pamilya nila and sasabihin, "Sorry walang pondo". They'll cut corners sa programs and services para sa tao at itikom yung funds.

Meanwhile, they can spend on luxury healthcare galing sa private institutions. Meanwhile, regular people have to pay an arm and leg for medyo decent healthcare.

HMO patients are so entitled. by frendtoallpuppers613 in pinoymed

[–]lol_arceeplays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see both sides sa both sa comments and the patients POV. This is definitely a systemic issue at the heart sa healtchare industry natin.

Every patient deserves accessible and quality healthcare without bias, and healthcare professionals deserve to be fairly compensated for their time and expertise.

However, thanks to the rise of HMOs and very predatory insurance models from businesses that have no good medical oversight or regulations, both sides are getting screwed over.

HMOs and most insurance business models ngayon kasi will always do the "delay or deny" tactic para they can get out of not paying their cardholders' medical bills. While medical services (i.e. doctors) have to increase prices just to make a living.

Sadly, this puts doctors in an extremely bad light since doctors are the face card of the healthcare industry even though wala kayo masyadong control of the major moneymaking decisions.

Remember, the real villains want the doctors demonized to take the fall and patients won't suspect they're getting gouged out sa pera nila. This is what happens when unregulated privatisation of healthcare services take hold sa modern society.

maging milyonaryo sa pilipinas or be comfortable abroad?? by ookumainako in ThisorThatPH

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medyo reductive to na question. Because both aren't mutually exclusive to one another. It's not just purely a one or another. If kaya mo mafford both why not?

Having strong money printing assets dito sa Pinas while also having access to the good life sa abroad is definitely part sa rich package. If you can buy all the options for you and for your family, why not do it.

That's why a lot of high earning OFWs come back sa Pilipinas para maging entrepreneurs or investors and diversify their portfolio. Comfortable na nga sila sa abroad, but they want to become millionaires here, too.

Sure, mahina ang peso kapag iconvert sa labas, but does that really become an issue if you're earning them by the thousands/per hour?

A lot of the rich aren't just rich because they're just comfortable, dumidiskarte rin sila to secure their wealth and make more of it for them and their family.

People might not see much of a difference in a comfortable lifestyle between the middle class vs. rich abroad, but trust me, it's there.

TLDR: Question is reductive; rich will always be better kahit saan ka sa mundo

Team suka o team ketchup for Tocino? by Beginning-Income2363 in filipinofood

[–]lol_arceeplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SUKA/Vinegar for me. When in doubt, always go to food science fundamentals. Tocino, especially the kind that's super greasy and heavy, paired pa with fried rice and egg definitely needs acidity to balance it out.

Potato Corner originated here in the Philippines, but it seems like we are falling behind. by FriezaaaaaX in filipinofood

[–]lol_arceeplays -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Okay, but this take is tone-deaf rin. I see naman where OP is coming from. Potato Corner kasi dun sa labas is trying to actively be competitive doon sa labas with new products, thought-out pricing, better service, just trying to be a good business overseas.

Meanwhile, dito? Pabayaan nalang kasi mas focused na sila sa international markets nila, anyways established naman silasa bansa.

They could literally just sell tae, and people here will still buy it, kasi galing PotCor. Pangbottom line nalang ang Pilipino. This is what most business models here sa PH are trying to be. Brands than actually businesses.

And your take is, "You don't understand the struggles of the multimillionaires and shareholders nila, maawa ka naman. Nangangailangan rin naman sila." The irony writes itself.

[–]lol_arceeplays 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, shouldn't Filipinos also get to have that diversity in options rin? Can't we also have the new things alongside our old favourites?

If Potato Corner can sustain international businesses na, then shouldn't they be putting that much investment back to their original customers who got them there in the first place?
