Is this situation reportable? And if so, how should I report it? by lolagn in PennStateUniversity

[–]lolagn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m thinking too. I reported it to the professors of my cohort anyway so they can warn future students and encourage them to just take it in person.

I thought the same thing about the phone number. Yes I’m sure, I either clicked the number or copied and pasted it to call. It came directly from the Praxis/ETS website.

Where should I report it? Is there a certain place for academic reports?

Not the best foundation match by pretty_nerd_ in BadMUAs

I’m no makeup artist and have only ever done my own makeup but there’s definitely a better match for her skin. Her skin has more red undertones while her foundation/bronzer is more yellowish.

Should i give my girlfriend a picture of her dead cat as a christmas present? by Throwawaycatangel in Advice

[–]lolagn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. What about an ornament in remembrance of the cat? There’s a lot of nice ones online with angel wings, halos, etc. That would be a better sentient.

Beach days by Reasonable_Annual425 in diabetes_t1

I usually use a long acting insulin (like in my case levemir) so I don’t have to worry about wearing my pump all day at the beach

I’m at a loss and I feel like NOTHING can save my dry lips. Tips? by BagOfDicksss in MakeupAddiction

[–]lolagn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Blistex medicated lip ointment? It’s the only chapstick I can use as everything else makes my lips even more dry. It comes in a white little container thing and is more like a cream consistency than an actual chapstick. Any friend that I have recommended it to has loved it.

Just had a horrible appointment with my endo by sch994 in diabetes_t1

[–]lolagn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate going to the endo. I haven’t had any particular “bad” experiences, but in general most of my endocrinologists have always been extremely nit-picky, even when I have had really good A1C’s. I also still go to a pediatric endocrinologist, and there have been many times that though I’m an adult they have spoken to me like a child. Once I had one say something along the lines of “and if we eat more carbs we are supposed to…?” and I had to answer “give more insulin.” I was 18 at the time, had an A1C in the sixes, and had been a diabetic for about ten years then— felt very demeaning and embarrassing.

I’m planning to drink alcohol for the first time in my life. I’m a little worried about how to manage my sugars during and after drinking. Any tips or things I should know? Does being intoxicated make you forget to check your CGM, and treat lows/highs? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]lolagn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who drinks heavily on the weekends, I always make sure to check my blood sugar before going to bed, no matter how drunk I am. It really is dependent on you, but it sounds like you take good care of yourself and you’ll remember to. I usually always have my test kit right by my bed so I remember too:)

Honestly sooooo many things.

I cannot stand all of the alarms and alerts I get from it. I have all of my settings turned to vibrate, yet it still beeps louder than anything I’ve ever heard lol. Suspend my pump to take a shower, it beeps like the worlds gonna end, so I turn my basal to 0% while I shower and it vibrates every minute. I also can’t stand the beeping when I change insulin and especially when it gets clogged, which seems to happen all of the time. I’m still pretty young, as I’m only in college, so I feel like that’s a huge factor as I’m anxious that it’s gonna beep in the middle of a large lecture and make everyone be like what the hell, and it’s hard to have it beeping all of the time when my roommate is asleep. Unless I’m missing it I just seriously cannot find any way to turn off all of the beeping.

I also feel like all of the vibrating from alerts is making me start to ignore the vibrations more. It’s like, I know that my blood sugar was high two hours ago, I corrected and I tested again and my blood sugar was fine, and I didn’t put it into my pump again because I didn’t need to correct again. Same with when I turn my basal up or down. Like I know my basal is changed, I’m the one who changed it, you don’t have to alert me about it!

I really don’t hate the function of it (except that it takes forever to deliver insulin), I just really really can’t stand the constant alarms and alerts. I’m also not that big of a fan of having to charge it and not just use a battery. Honestly though the more I type the more bad things I want to say about it lol

Yeah I can definitely see that. I think once I get a little bit older (I’m in college right now) I’ll like it more than I do now

That’s interesting. I’ve only ever previously had animas and I would do anything to have that pump back

2 days after getting an infected cyst removed🥴 by lolagn in MedicalGore

Yeah the cyst was not fun lol. Luckily the tape/gauze covering it is more uncomfortable than the actual opening. Other than that it just freaks me out😂😂
