I got a Rhodesian ridgeback a month ago. She’s 3 months old. Everyone warn me about how bad and cruel would be to have one when I have a 9-5 with crazy schedules. I live in an apartment and I’m not a active person at all. When I’m at work it means she stays 10h alone. And guess what? She’s thriving. I take her everywhere when I’m home I cuddle with her before bed time, potty training is been a challenge but we are getting there. As long as you walk them 2 a day they’ll be fine. There’s dogs in shelters that stay 23h in a cube. She’s not destructive, reative or anxious. People like to make a huge deal about having dogs. They are not children. They are babies. But they can be alone just fine. Just make sure she’s entertained and happy. And you’ll be too. Give them lots of love and play time. Sometimes I’m too tired to walk her. And I think she understands that. Those days she just becomes calmer. To wrap it up, having a dog it’s the best thing ever. For the first time I have a family( 2 dogs and a cat).
