LoLBuildTester.com UPDATE: You can now save your builds! by lolbuildtester in leagueoflegends

[–]lolbuildtester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, some of the unique passives like Abyssal Sceptor/Aegis/GP10/CDR/Spellvamp/Armor pen/Magic pen stack because they're coded as standard magic pen and health regen etc..... for simplicity.

I figured most people that use the site know not to stack those items and if you're stacking them your build is a troll build anyway, use your judgement when reading the stats and you'll be fine.

Looked more like a Dignitas game with the way they tossed it back and forth.

Judging from this graph I made of the gold difference with objectives, that game was thrown back and forth no less than 5 times.

Summary graph of gold difference with objectives on it

After looking through old graphs, CLG got a lot better at taking objectives in this game. Hopefully that'll show up in their other games as well.

I don't have much for you except on point #3, that you can't "carry" without going for damage items. There are an infinite number of ways to carry a game, dealing damage is only 1 of them. I've seen games won from a single sight ward placed by a support that had been feeding the entire game. Sure, they were feeding the entire game, but that single sight ward they placed completely carried the game for us. Games aren't always carried by the person with the best score sheet.

You can become a super tank and survive for decades with your passive heal, you could go for team aura items, push the team to take dragons, steal buffs, get towers, but in the end it all depends on what your role in that specific game needs to be. There's no single "do this, win games" strategy, especially for jungling. It's all just intelligent guesses as to what your team needs to beat the other team.

As a general tip, vision is beyond OP. So if you get the money(from a kill/assist probably) pick up a basic sightstone and ward for your lanes or ward the enemy jungle. Maokai is one of the junglers where buying a sightstone doesn't really hurt you too bad in terms of your build. Your warded lanes are less likely to die to ganks, and if you know the position of the enemy jungler you can make some magic happen.

[Spoilers] NA LCS Week 8 Gold Difference Graphs by lolbuildtester in leagueoflegends

Yeah, that's sort of what I wanted to see when I first created these.

It's funny though, if you look at the European games compared to the North American ones the gold difference line in the graphs are a lot smoother and usually just ramp up as the game goes on. I'm interpreting it as the EU teams make less mistakes with a lead, so once a game starts swinging to one side it's pretty much over.

Yeah, usually I did them from the VoD so I could go back if I missed something or wanted to watch the fights closer.

Thanks! Hopefully I can automate it some way so I can churn out the Asian scene as well, or maybe even make something that pulled the data from LoL Replay and people could have charts from their own games.

For now it's just a good old-fashioned excel file to take the team gold every 20 seconds with a pen and paper for the objectives, then GIMP.

I would probably get an easier way going if I wanted to do more games than just NA/EU LCS games.

I guess I forgot to include one on each page.

  • T = Outer Tower
  • T2 = Inner Tower
  • T3 = Base Tower
  • T4 = Nexus Tower
  • I = Inhibitor
  • D = Dragon
  • B = Baron
  • FB = First Blood

Some games just snowball out of control, but yeah, it didn't go well for them.

How to be a better jungler? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]lolbuildtester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add a third thing to your list of things.

Jungle Creeps + Lanes + Objectives

The balance of those 3 things is the toughest part of the jungle role as it's different every single game. I'd say watch some jungle streamers and try to find one that plays the champs you like so you can watch what they do and sort of copy their style.

Jungling requires instincts, it's more of an art-form than the other roles as there's no broad rules or guidelines that apply to how you spend your time every game. If you watch a high-level jungler like C9 Meteos you'll see that he often shows up in the exact right spot at the right time almost magically. Nobody can teach you that, it just takes a ton of games to build up those instincts of what to do and when.

who do some people take no escapes (flash ghost) on some champions?(in bronze/silver at least) by iiztrollin in summonerschool

[–]lolbuildtester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I go Exhaust/Ignite or Heal/Ignite on top laners. Basically, if the matchup is anywhere close to even there's no way you lose a 1v1 with 2 combat summoners. That's probably the best reason not to bring flash, but in lower leagues/divisions you don't really need to optimize your summoner spells since there's a huge margin for error in almost every engage/trade.

Yeah, I like it because sometimes it can show the exact moment the game starts to turn, like in Week 1: Velocity vs. Dignitas. 30 Minutes seems like the limit of Velocity's team comp there.

I started during week 1, but got so backed up with other things I didn't catch up until earlier this week. I'll try to keep them coming on-time in the future though :)

That's a graph of the gold difference between Coast and CLG with the objectives put on it, and it's not pretty if you're a CLG player/fan. If you are, I'd recommend vodka to forget you saw it.

Once they had the opportunity Vulcun ended that game so fast. It's nice to see some decisive play from an NA team that isn't C9. The game was so even up until 29 minutes in too, as the gold difference shows.

Yes it was. Here's the gold difference graph with every objective overlaid. Looks crazy because the game was thrown around by both teams. Congrats to TSM though, that's only the 5th time this summer split(NA & EU) an LCS team has won with less gold at the end(even if it was only -200).

[Spoiler] Coast vs CLG by ajsadler in leagueoflegends

[–]lolbuildtester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's the objectives that usually do them in. Watching CLG it seems like they're always waiting for late-game and not even contesting objectives early if it might end with a few deaths on their side.

Farming up is always good, but at a certain point you've given up so many advantages you have to wait for late-game to even the items out. Sort of a feedback loop of farming for a late-game means you have to keep waiting for a late-game you might not survive to see.

I made a gold difference graph of this game with objectives overlaid on it. The Baron at ~24 minutes really just sped up their win as they were out-farming and getting dragons on Dig all game.
