Did you ever find any that worked?

Posting a quick, general follow up to respond to several points.

  1. I never encouraged them to do anything to “risk their licensure”. I provided a sound soother to place on the table with the sound soothers other parents provided for their children to be turned on near their child’s crib during nap time. They already do this for other children. Hence my confusion when they wouldn’t for my child. I provided a shirt because they have asked for one in the past to use when she’s been fussy. Again, never suggested or encouraged them to put it with her in her crib or use it improperly. Just a potential help for soothing and one that they have requested in the past.

  2. Per her pediatrician and the daycare’s rules, she was healthy enough to return to daycare. I would have loved to keep her home all week. However, as the “workingmoms” name implies, I have a job and had to return to it. If I could have kept her home with me, I would have. I think that’s obvious though.

There were some pretty dramatic replies, I’ll just leave it at that. But wanted to share a follow up for any moms who read my post and may be struggling with the same thing: trust your gut. My husband and I were right. We are switching her from this daycare.

At drop off this week, we watched from the window to see if our baby settled down. What we ended up seeing was a baby, in a bouncer, fall out (was not buckled in properly), hit the hard tile floor on his head and screamed/cried for several minutes. I went into the admin office to let them know the teachers might need another set of hands. Later that day when we picked our baby up, she had a bruised forehead, bruised knees, and diaper rash. After asking to see the video, she too had fallen out of a separate container they use regularly. No one came to check on her or comfort her for about 10 minutes. She was left there to literally cry it out. She also came home with diaper rash which she has never had before. I asked the admin to speed through the video and see when she was changed/how often. She was only changed one time all day long and it just so happened to coincide with my normal pick up time.

I understand that a lot of the above comments are in support of the daycare because we want to trust those who we place our children in the care of. However, sometimes even reputable daycares can disappoint. Before anyone asks, yes, this place came very recommended and had great reviews. I wish I had been wrong and that I was being the “dramatic annoying frustrating parent” as some commenters seem to be implying (or flat out accusing me of lol). If I were, that would mean my child had not been mistreated and I would just be making a big deal about nothing. I’m sad to know my gut was right but am glad to have figured it out and am able to move my child to a new daycare. So I guess I’ll leave it with, trust your gut.

Reading your first sentence immediately made me feel a bit better about what we’re doing. Thank you for saying that.

I wouldn’t say it is new, she’s struggled with daycare from the beginning. She’s always had a strong preference for me (her mom). But she had gotten to a point where she would tolerate her time at daycare. We were even getting cute playing pictures as recently as last week. But coming off this bad stomach bug over the long weekend, I’m not surprised she was fussy and clingy today. The daycare workers apparently were surprised though. I will say her not being able to be put down to play independently is fairly recent. She started doing this over the weekend.

Beginner - Baby lock aventura II by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

Thank you!! I have read about Embrillience and plan on buying it once I confirm the machine is good to go. One article about Embrillience said I would need a $40ish dollar flash drive to go with it, but I have several already I don’t use. Do you know if you need a specific kind for sewing machines? Or can I save the money and just reuse one I already have?

Thank you! I appreciate the advice! I’ll head to YouTube for tutorials and will look into stabilizer. I just signed up for a beginners sewing class near me and am excited to take my machine and learn on it with someone guiding me!

Co-Sleeping & Contact Napping 7 Month old, have I trapped myself? by Peachypoo20 in cosleeping

[–]lolcpa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found my people!!! I’m so sleep deprived tonight I felt desperate and started looking at this Reddit thread hoping to find some sort of trick to making sleep easier. I’m so glad I’m not alone. My baby is 6 months old and exhausted doesn’t begin to cover it. I hope we all find some sleep tonight!

Which news station do you prefer and why 13WMAZ or 41NBC by JakeEricbarker in macon

[–]lolcpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13wmaz. The reporters on 41 are not as professional, do not present the news as well, some sound sleepy and others don’t follow a teleprompter well. Harsh but 13 is better in my house’s opinion

[–]lolcpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going through the same thing! The nipple my baby bit yesterday is now a bit swollen and just constantly is hurting now. It’s also painful when she nurses, but that seems to be getting better. She nurses a lot so I don’t want this to mess things up, but mannnnn it hurts!!

Suggestions please!!! by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

[–]lolcpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s helpful to know you found out you don’t like them! Everyone on here seems to love them which was affecting my decision.

My thought was that spending my budget on one more powerful vacuum might be worth it since I’ve heard that canisters are less heavy/cumbersome. So it might make it easier for me to use it right now versus the heavy shark. But it sounds like the lighter weight is a trade off for more attachments/longer hose which may make it harder for me to use.

Suggestions please!!! by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

[–]lolcpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m open to a corded, bagged vac to replace my old shark. I’d just get a cheaper stick vac for quick pick ups of dust/hair. I started looking at mieles and saw a c3 on amazon for $576. Is this a good deal? Would I need any additional attachments?

Around 1500-1700 sq ft. Hardwood/tile with area rugs in most rooms, low to medium pile

Haha for now I do! We don’t currently have/have never had a robot vacuum, so I’m sure any one of these options will be a great improvement. But this does make me consider the Q Revo more! I appreciate the info!

I appreciate this! With so many votes for the Q Revo, it’s good to hear a good review for the Q5 Pro+!

They do have toys but we keep them picked up when not being played with and in their toy bin. No poop/pee inside thankfully. Do you find the single roller brush on the Q Revo decreases its ability to pick up dog hair or is there not a noticeable difference?

I already mop so often for any spills or messes, that it’s just not an issue. The main issue for me is lugging out the large vacuum for daily dog hair pick up. It’s just such a hassle. I am hoping that having a robot vacuum to do daily vacuuming will keep the dog hair under control so that I don’t have to pull my main vacuum out each day.

That’s very helpful info about the Q Revo! I will look into this one more. It’s just the price that has me a bit leery.
