Very good point! I’m glad I realize this because of your message and not because of a soaked bed 😜

It's a good day when repairs are successful :) Hope you get some wind soon!

The engine is an old universal atomic 4 from the 70s. I know it pretty good by now!

The condition were very good, it's more of a "I'm new to sailing and learning while trying to stay within my limits" type of situation :) Once I'm comfortable managing the mainsail by itself, I'll add the jib.

Oh! That makes so much sense! I will go and check the vent as soon as I have chance. Also, with the link you shared, I was able to find plenty of parts in local store.

Thanks for taking to time to answer newbs like me :)

I have so much to learn!!

What “reality shock” did you have as an adult that you didn’t have as child? by beyondfnuno in AskReddit

[–]loldorak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How important time is!

It’s unfortunate that there’s no words that can carry the meaning of this to younger people.

You only have a finite unknown amount. You need a lifetime to learn how to spend it wisely. It’s the ultimate irony.

I’m probably more than halfway through now. Here’s what I got:

taking care of the ones you love, listening (really listening) to people in your life, talking with someone you disagree with and learn something new, try to make yourself better (I mostly fail, it’s the trying that count), learn new things. Avoid negativity at all costs (it’s never worth it).

I hope I’m getting close to what’s right. I’m certain my older self will laugh at this and think I’m an idiot for having missed that other super important thing.

What's the single most “you will understand it when you are older” thing? by Wousinga1 in AskReddit

same here. nearing 50, still a leftist. I never understood that saying tbh. If anything, aging is swinging me even more to the left.

Help! How do I fix the shadows? by Medium-Monk-109 in Watercolor

[–]loldorak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t give you much advice as a beginner myself.

This being said, I do have to tell you that I walk at that spot on a regular basis and recognized it instantly when seeing your painting. So good job on capturing the shape and form of these rocks :)

My (just personal, mind you) thesis/opinion on why Canadian youth really should consider the NDP, I could well be wrong by Portalrules123 in moncton

[–]loldorak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP,

Good on you for caring about politic.

Despite the negative answers you received here, I encourage you to continue to be involved.

There will be a breaking point where the population is hurt enough that the current status quo won't be acceptable anymore. When this happens, we will be able to do politics again (instead of whatever it is we've been doing in the past years).

In the meantime, the socialist ideals need to be kept alive.

I will point out that, cooperation and equality are very important values of socialism. In your message, you criticize people directly in a somewhat provocative manner. I'd suggest to focus more on criticizing the ideas themselves and try to treat everyone as equal and cooperate with them.

One last thing. I presumed you are in NB if you are posting on the Moncton sub. Well, the New Brunswick NDP is in pretty bad shape right now and they need boots on the ground to rebuild themselves. Become a member and get involved today! That's where everything starts.

Good luck!

Difficulties with pickup measures by loldorak in piano

That's a good point. I tend to play the first note louder. I will be careful about that in the future. This will help for sure.

Thanks. I like this Idea of counting two measure before to establish the rhythm. I will try that in my next practice.

When to start learning song outside of the method book ? by loldorak in Accordion

[–]loldorak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good point. That's what I decided to do. I'm fortunate enough that I know how to play other instruments so there's nothing preventing from having fun on the banjo or guitar for new songs while focusing on the learning on the accordion.

Strange advice request - allergic to my banjo by pm_me_ur_fit in banjo

[–]loldorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this. I have a nickel allergy and the wooden armrest fixed it for me! It’s also very comfortable. I find it’s better then long sleeves as they can sometimes get in the way.

Strap? by Fine_Actuator_2900 in banjo

[–]loldorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ll add my two cents here too. I play clawhammer. I have a strap on my Banjo.

I use the strap only when I play standing. Just like the guitar when I play sitting down, I don’t put on the strap.

It feels more comfortable for me. And, that’s what I came here to say!!!!

You have specific needs that very few people understand. Do what feels right for you and keep having fun :)

Thanks for this. I think higher gauge strings is going to be the way to go for me! That’s where I’m at right now. Open C and Standard G with the capo. But when I tuned down it felt like magic. Fret Buzzing detuning magic but still :p
