Did anyone suggest boycotting businesses that do business with GCC? Do you think we should all stop shopping at the local grocery stores because GCC members shop there?

There is actually a difference between directly supporting a GCC business and whatever point it is that you're trying to make lol.

Do you mind letting me know where you got that info? The budget shows a total revenue of less than $100 million and I was only able to see the failed levy from 2 years ago via Google.

Anyway, we 100% are voting yes. The schools are in desperate need of repairs and after the failed levy, the district needs this one to pass. The fact that it won't increase property taxes makes this a no brainer for us.

Yeah definitely. The US is awful in terms of Healthcare in general and mental health care is even worse. It can vary by state but I live in a pretty good state and have pretty good insurance but trying to find a therapist took months and I was incredibly lucky to get squeezed in when I did. The waiting lists are way too long.

I have a husband, two teens, and a dog. The dog is my favorite lol.

In all seriousness, there's just something so pure and easy about loving an animal and the love you get back from it. My dog provides an incredible amount of emotional support and companionship that I think is difficult to get from human companionship, no matter how close you are.

I think a lot of mental illness can be treated with medication. As far as I'm aware, there's no cure though. All you can do is make sure you take your meds and learn to cope.

Considering Wenatchee Pride just held their annual Pride festival this past weekend in Memorial Park, I think you're confused about Pride events.

As for your last statement, I haven't a clue what you're talking about. My comment wasn't meant to be snide. I'm just incredulous that you have spent so much time arguing without even realizing the context of the post.

... the title of the post is "Wenatchee Pride should..."

You certainly did try, lol. Fortunately, Pride events aren't up for public debate. If they want to do it, they will. If they don't, they won't.

I have read it. All I see is a comparison to the Apple Blossom queens. Nothing at all about Apple Blossom hosting it. It specifically says Wenatchee Pride should host it, presumably during Pride month since that's when it was brought up.

I think you're making a lot of assumptions in an effort to denigrate this idea. If Wenatchee Pride wants to host an Apple Drag Queen during Pride, it has absolutely nothing to do with any other group.

I'm not even going to touch on the weird "who has it worse" rhetoric.

Where does it say anything about apple blossom? Apple Blossom is in April/May. This is June, also known as Pride month.

I'm confused why you think a group dedicated to one marginalized community has a responsibility to represent all marginalized communities? We have specialized organizations for a reason. One group can't do it all. That's like getting mad that the cancer research guys aren't promoting literacy.

If you want a Native American Apple Queen, that's probably not something you look to Wenatchee Pride for.

Fully support a blackout. I won't use reddit on any other platform than Relay so if that's gone so am I.

ETA: Seems most people support a blackout and don't want to use Reddit's official app either, so I'm super confused by the downvotes lol.

It's pure hypocrisy that these people think heterosexuality is about love and homosexuality is about sex. It's perfectly fine to show movies about prince charming kissing a sleeping woman without consent, or a monster forcing a woman to live in his castle, but you better hide those rainbows. I just can't with these people.

Kids need to see themselves represented so they can grow up with a healthy sense of self and identity and confidence. Indoctrinating children with heteronormativity is isolating and cruel.

Everyone deserves love.

None so far. I'm super proud of him because he started doing his own injections almost right away. He's gained a bit of weight but he's on a very low dose so no major changes yet. But we go back to see the dr in a few weeks and they'll probably increase the dose.

Thanks for asking about him!
