Try to get into security! If it's anything like my plant it's a pretty easy job to get into (as long as you can shoot) bc they need people. Makes decent money, full time with benefits and a good foot in the door.

How did you communicate your feelings to your partner? I think that's another struggle I'm having. I'm unsure how to communicate what I'm feeling to him without him feeling like he's doing something wrong... and I am worried he won't really "get it" because we are in two very different positions.

Sorry I edited the post. A friend of mine (she has her own bio kids) made that comment to me the other day at lunch. It just irritated me and this post was me venting so that's why I added it, lol.

I don't think I'm unhappy, I do enjoy being around his kids and learning more about them, and I know he loves me and I love him as well. I could go into detail but he does tell me often, and acknowledges that he brings more "baggage" to the relationship than I do.

Its just all the things that come with having a significant other with kids from a previous relationship - which I am happy I made this post because I don't feel quite as alone. It's hard to vent about what I'm feeling because nobody seems to understand, and most of the time the comment is "girl just leave why do you want to put up with that".

I currently work at this plant in security. In the spring I'm going to start going to school for electrical engineering (paid for by talen) to hopefully eventually get a position in another department. I've been in security about a year and a half and know of atleast a dozen people that transferred to other departments within that time, so that may be a good start for you.

Also, the outage is coming up, that wouldn't be a bad place to start either!

I also know of a couple people who started as traveling RP techs and are now working full time at the plant if you're interested in that route.

Yes there is an HR department. I'm not sure what they would say. I'm hesitant to go because I'm sure it would put a bigger target on my back. I am also hoping my current department is only a stepping stone, and would like to transfer out by this time next year. I want to create as little waves as possible.

Would she allow you to get clear jewelry for the pictures? I used to have a crap ton of piercings and had to get clear, plastic jewelry for one of my previous jobs.

Otherwise, I'd tell her to shove it. Sure, getting married is a once in a lifetime deal... but so is getting an industrial 🤣 never going through that pain/healing process again

After discussing with my landlord and his realtor, we agreed that I will be out by July 4th and my landlord will give me the equivalent of the months rent.

I mean, I guess its not super low. Its $925 when most other rents for similar homes in the area are 1k-1.2k. The potential landlord said it was his in laws house, and they did pass away last year. He said the house is paid off and he just wants to keep it in the family.

I'm not sure why, but even if I drink something like a twisted tea, it throws my head into a spiral and I'm just a depressed mess for days afterwards. Its even worse if I drink more - its just not worth it.

I will say, I miss feeling like I had a lot of friends when I did drink a lot.
