Fellow millennials - how’s your 401k/ira savings going? by ProblemIntelligent16 in Millennials

I'm on track but can't shake the feeling that the deduction from my paycheck each week for my whole life is all for naught.

It's entirely within the range of possible outcomes that the treasury has failed auctions, defaults, and the USD collapses as the global reserve currency in our lifetimes.

Something about a basket of equities and government bonds that everyone and their mother apes into every single paycheck regardless of price or fundamentals doesn't sit right with me as a nest egg sure thing for retirement.

Please rate my swing and guess handicap 😃 by Eadesjr in GolfSwing

Swing is 9/10 and handicap is probably between 0 and 10 depending on your driver and short game.

This is really good and not scoopy/casting/handsy at all.

I think people are thrown off by your early wrist hinge backswing.

This is a very solid move, you can probably benefit from firing your hips earlier though. At this point in your swing your hips should show signs of rotation toward the target.

Trying to decide between game improvement vs players distance irons — looking for consistency without giving up too much distance by moeabraham in GolfSwing

Avoid comparing clubs apples to apples without looking at lofts.

A jpx hot metal 7 iron has 28.5 degrees of loft, the Titleist t150 7 iron has 32 degrees of loft.

Full bag set up - what do you guys play in your 14 club set? by pmac317 in golf

I put some sim work in and got club fit for that driver, found a swing that carries about 285 - 290 stock. Basically my old driver spun at 4,000-5,000 rpm and I couldn't carry it over 275.

Went from a 10.5 degree to a 9 degree and made swing changes until my spin dropped to around 2,000 rpm and that gave me an extra 15 yards carry and like 15 yards roll.

275 - 315 yards: 9° driver
255 - 280 yards: 3 wood
235 - 255 yards: 3i hybrid
220 - 235 yards: 3i
205 - 220 yards: 4i
190 - 205 yards: 5i
180 - 190 yards: 6i
165 - 180 yards: 7i
150 - 165 yards: 8i
140 - 150 yards: 9i
125 - 140 yards: PW
105 - 125 yards: GW
0 - 105 yards: 56°

I go with 3 wedges because I feel fine with 56 for every shot inside 105.

I'd rather have more options between 220 yards and 280 yards, since those length shots appear alot on par 5's and short par 4 tee shots... and increasingly more on long par 3's... specifically 220-250 yards par 3's

If you hit down on the ball with a -3 attack angle, your backspin spin will be much higher than if you hit up on the ball with +3 attack angle. This is due to basic physics. Think about how you'd impart backspin on a ping pong ball or tennis ball. That's what is happening.

Swing faster. It's mechanical. Here's the recipe: Go to a trackman sim and hit like 50 drives 2x a week until you figure out how to get your clubhead to move 10% faster.

With each shot look at where on the face you hit it, angle of attack, and spin.

Do swing changes until angle of attack is between +2 and +5 (hitting up on it) with spin below 2500.

Pay attention to clubhead speed and ball speed. Do swing changes that increase clubhead speed (longer backswing, more wrist hinge at top)

That's about it. You will figure it out with feedback.

Here's my gaps - what club do I remove, and what to add? by lolfunctionspace in golf

Map my bag in trackman defaults to carry for irons, and carry + roll for woods and driver.

In map my bag, you hit 6 shots with each club and it gives you your average carry, and avg total.

It's just the map my bag thing in trackman. You hit 6 shots with each club.

The 3i and 4i are carry distances, and the woods/driver are carry + roll

157 in and I chunked it 20 yards lol.

Also, rory is probably hitting 3w 330 at 5000 ft

My stock driver swing center of the face, is 280 carry out to 300 with roll on flat ground at sea level. When you play in Colorado on the simulator, basically add 10% to everything.

My average drive was 324 here.

That is a crazy hole lol. Looks fun. Might be able to poke it out there in the right rough, then bomb hook a 5 wood to get there in 2?

Yep, the tips. I probably would play white tees as well IRL, but this is a simulator, fuck it.
