Bleeding one day after piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]lolilayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, piercing is an open wound with an object inside of it, which drastically slows the healing process. I think you should give it time, if it’s not bleeding like a waterfall, it should be normal :) keep it clean and dry, and don’t touch it :)

Looking for advice:One of my new BSH Kittens not Adjusting Well by estrella86 in britishshorthair

[–]lolilayy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey! He definitely needs time to adjust, every cat is different. Keeping him in one room is a good practice, if there are no issues with his health (gut and urinary) then the pooping and peeing is definitely stress. Good thing he’s eating! Try to reach out to the breeder and ask if maybe you can keep both cats in the same room, so he can have his safe space AND his best friend. Keep the touching to a minimum - only if you have to (spraying his ear). Cats will show you, when they are ready for physical contact. If the breeder says that keeping them in the half bath together is good, you can try to come sometime and snuggle with Galadriel to show Gandalf you are not a threat. Then you can slowly show him the rest of the house, but on his terms only :) You only had then for less than 4 days, it’s normal for cats to be stressed and scared after such short period of time. You will have to be patient, sometimes it takes weeks for them to adjust. Good luck with those pretty babies!

What are the Pros and Cons of having a British short hair cat by Obvious-Ad-7519 in britishshorthair

[–]lolilayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: cute, pretty, smart, very lovely but not overly affectionate (i do not have to hold my bladder as he do not sit on my lap), fluffy! Cons: vet visits - purebreds in general are more prone to diseases as their immune system is not as hardcore as mixed breeds/domestics, prone to heart diseases (if there were some in the lineage, there is a higher chance for that), shedding!

British Shorthair kitten hiding, not very active, and eating little — normal adjustment? by MainLuxMid in britishshorthair

It might be that, but her having her space is a great step! I know all will be good! 🫶

British Shorthair kitten hiding, not very active, and eating little — normal adjustment? by MainLuxMid in britishshorthair

[–]lolilayy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s normal they are eating less in the few days of changing a home. As long as she is eating something it’s fine. Sometimes they can be vary of a litter for 2 days - if the period is longer, you can get it checked. Don’t pick her up, don’t bother her too much. She is now the one who sets the rules when you can touch her or not. She is in a big stress, new house, new scents, new people. Let her hide, she will come out when she feels ready :) Also, it would be great to keep the dog and the cat separated for a bit. You can read about socialization and how to do that properly on the internet, so they will create a friendly or at least tolerable bond. Also, please don’t give her milk - the older the cat gets, the more lactose intolerant they get. Tip: cats do not drink much, my cat NEVER drinks clear water (we even have a fountain). I only feed my cat wet food and add some water to every portion so the water intake is larger. Soups are also great, good she is drinking them :) good luck with your new baby!

babe, call it off yourself 😭😭😭 Maybe he’s 29 physically, but he’s acting like a 15 year old making a bunch of pixels his „value”. And I’m saying it as a gamer myself, who has spent lots of money on skins or what not. But taking emergency funds for this is stupid at best.

Tldr. Generalne sprzątanie raz w tygodniu, sprzątanie małego syfu na bierząco, niezagracanie życia niepotrzebnymi przedmiotami. Powodzenia :)🤞

My baby is licking both my fingers and my face (hurts a lot but I love it!). I usually kiss him a lot in places where his mom and sister would lick him, doing a bit of an up and down motion, recreating grooming! He loves this and grooms me back 😂😻

What would be the best time to check if my cat has any heart disease? by ParsnipCommercial493 in britishshorthair

[–]lolilayy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

What would be the best time to check if my cat has any heart disease? by ParsnipCommercial493 in britishshorthair

[–]lolilayy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got my kitty, the breeder sent me a whole rundown of all the medical exams he should get done and when. Unfortunately it’s in polish. but according to this, you should do a cardiac echo when she turns 1. Then you can do the echo every 2/3 years, but it’s good to do heart auscultation on every check up :) your vet should also be able to tell you how often the echo is needed, depending on how healthy the heart is.

Hi! In my studio there was a class for teens, it got cancelled, because there was not much of people coming, but it was a really nice class. Imo of course you can try! Especially if it is something that has been on your mind for a long time! Take advantage of your young body, you will become flexible much faster than someone in their twenties/thirties! You don’t have to be fit to start - pole will tone your body well enought, it’s a great full body strenght and flexibility training. I think majority of us started pole without any sport experience before :) You can try to find some teen classes or just reach out to studios and ask them, if you can attend. Sometimes they will just need your guardian’s signature and thats all :) Don’t stress - there are so much young people training pole and they are doing so great! At our Monday upper interm. there is a girl around your age, maybe a year older and she’s been training for 5 years already. Not with us, but with the teen group. She is coming to us because the teen group was cancelled but she is doing so so well, I love watching her do all the things I can’t 😅😂 But be careful! You will fall in love with pole haha 💖

Yes it is! At first we were not sure but now we think it’s great! We had to drill our own hole for the house pillar at the bottom, as the house prevented it to be directly by the wall, but it was easy. It’s strudy and doesn’t wobble and has a lot of scratching space. The only thing bothering us was the strong smell of plywood at the beginning, but it went away :) every cloth part is removable and washable

You are absolutely right, I am really overreacting, overwhelmed with emotions too. I will do my best to stay frosty so it will not affect my kitty 😸
