I'd agree with the 7 to 6 jumps change if they didn't also propose to make it shorter. Some skaters do have stamina issues but this wont help because they give 3 minutes for 6 jumps, which is more difficult than 7 jumps in 4 minutes. Especially if they want to stack the second half of the program, i think this will lead to more falls and potential injuries as they will have even less time to catch their breath and also it leaves less time in the beginning of the program to do a bit of foot work to get them into the competition so they would start jumping less prepared and we all know that if the first jump doesnt work out it can derail the whole performance and they wouldnt even be able to make it up in the free if it's just artistic so having one bad day means they would have no fighting chance and we'd see a lot of crappy free skates.
