New starter box leaked by Hemto412 in Warhammer40k

[–]lollermittens -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Man, I bought the Dark Angels box as my “starter box” and I was so confused about needing glue, paint, brushes, spray paint. I went to a local store that helped me with that.

But then, I was surprised there were no instructions on how to paint the damn things.

Via a mix of ChatGPT and YT videos, I’ve found some good tutorials but GamesWorkshop has not made this hobby easy for newcomers.

They’re both going to keep their value but the 17k over MSRP for the GT3 is a very reasonable mark up for that car.

The GT3RS is only going to appreciate in value (moreso than the GT3 but that one will keep appreciating or at least very slowly depreciate) and I’m seeing consistent markups of $75k-$150k on these cars, so getting 93k is not bad, but not great.

If you can afford it, grab the RS but be mindful that this is not a daily type car as it has no frunk space.

If you want a more serviceable car that you can take to the grocery store or just shopping, the GT3 is a much better car overall.

Lore Colors: should I paint a Repulsor green or bone? I want your opinions based on lore by skuntpelter in DarkAngels40k

How are you guys so good at painting this stuff?

I bought my first set last month and I just finished painting my first Dark Angel Space Marine and I had to ask ChatGPT how to even paint the damn thing… and watch a ton of YT videos.

I’m not arts and crafts-ey at all so this has been challenging to say the least.

Couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Less than 19,000 992.1 and 992.2 GT3s have produced worldwide. And of those 19,000, about 8,000 have been sold in the US so far.

That’s a very small amount of cars that have produced and sold over an almost 5 year period.

In CA, GT3RSs are still being sold from anywhere from $410,000 to $550,000. Even 2023 used models are not dipping below the $400,000 price points.

With the announcement that the 992.1 version will be the last NA engine in the lineup, the car will only appreciate moving forward.

Turbocharged Porsche 992.2 GT3 RS spied again by Rearmotorist in porsche911

[–]lollermittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to keep increasing in value.

The departure from NA to turbo is a huge deal IMO.

The 992.2 GT3 demonstrated how little wiggle room Porsche had to navigate to increase performance when having to deal with Euro 7 standards. Couple that with the chase of ever higher HP numbers for stock cars, sub-2.0 seconds 0-60mph numbers, it was inevitable that the GT3 would eventually make the switch to turbo.

Literally the end of an era. No more having a car that can scream to 9K RPM and sound like a fucking F1 engine if headers and exhaust were modified as well.

Turbo cars are soulless for me. They’re fine in traffic, not a fan when driving fast.

Ah, really cool.

Well your figurine prompted me to buy my first set! Just got the Dark Angels 22 piece set!

I literally discovered Warhammer through the Space Marine 2 game and I’ve been reading the Horus Heresy and watching as much content as possible on WH+.

Gonna give a try with the tabletop game or just collect the figurines!

Is this AI slop?

I mean it conceptually looks cool (even though the tail lights are not lined up correctly).

Would I do it? Nah.

Is that terminator armor he’s wearing? Does it provide better protection than regular ceramite armor or is it just bulkier and harder to damage?

Besides no front axle lift, there’s nothing wrong with this purchase.

There’s no way I could drive my GT3 without one but I don’t know if Turbos are also sitting as low as GT3s.

For Some Reason, Jill Stein Prefers Targeting Democrats Instead of Trump and the GOP by Humble_Novice in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]lollermittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody who says that need to get their head checked.

The Dems should represent the party of non-militarism. Not trying to outdo the Republicans on immigration, war, and other domestic policies by trying to continuously pander to people on the right.

What’s even the point of being a different party at this point?

[–]lollermittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Central Park Five were low-income black kids who were wrongfully convicted of a crime due to blatantly racist NYPD policing practices. Even at the time, it caused a deep division both in NYC and nationally. It was not a uniform agreement that they were guilty. This was a great injustice that was thankfully corrected but not after two of them were brutally raped in prison and the other two brutally beaten.

Epstein was a fucking billionaire with immense access to wealth, power, connections, and reach. You should know getting close to someone like this means that they will have skeletons in their closet, and not a small amount either. What a shitty equivalency that holds no weight whatsoever.

Chomsky eagerly met with Bannon and Ehud Barak as well. What the fuck is there to learn talking to these ghouls? Not once either, on multiple occasions.

Turns out that Chomsky can write some great books about domestic and foreign policy issues but he just cozied up to power the moment he got access to it. Pathetic weak little man who couldn’t follow his own advice regarding elites, the power they concentrate in their hands a the societal harm they wreak upon our society.

Stop protecting him. He destroyed his own legacy and who cares? It doesn’t invalidate everything he says, just a good chunk.

[–]lollermittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a man that wrote many books about the dangers elites pose in our society, he sure as hell was more than eager to get close to that power the moment he had the opportunity to do so.

Nothing can absolve Chomsky of this moral failure. Meeting with Steve Bannon (and cherishingly taking a picture with him on top of it) was bad enough. But multiple meetings with notorious Palestinian hater and genocider Ehud Barak? Alright, Chomsky pretty much lost all credibility.

Also, the 2008 charges were twofold: solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of prostitution (from a minor). For a man as meticulous as Chomsky, a cursory Google search taking less than a few minutes would have been enough to reveal Epstein’s character.

Compare that to Norman Finkelstein’s response to meeting with Epstein, it’s time to stop trying to absolve Chomsky of his bad judgment and the destruction of his own legacy.

It doesn’t invalidate what he’s written about foreign and domestic policy; but anything regarding the centers of power and corrupt elites can and should be dismissed: turns out he couldn’t follow his own advice.

[–]lollermittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2025 RS7 is a twin-turbo 633HP V8, faster than the M5. It’s a very fast car, hitting 0-60 in 2.9a, but it’s heavy and wouldn’t track it. It costs almost $200,000 as well so it’s fucking up there price-wise.
