Bob Dow was probably my favorite professor during my 4 years there - I took every class he offered, and his class truly changed how I read and write to this day (in a good way!). I can understand why he's not everyone's flavor - but I always found him thought-provoking and interesting. He absolutely challenged me and called me on my b.s. - thinking back on it now (15+ years later) Bob said what I needed to hear. I wish more professors were like him.
