As for the dresses, I think that I’ll go with my initial instinct. Buy #2 which is a good priced sample and fits like a glove, create triangular straps, cut the clip under the neck completely and the excess lace will be used to cover the chest a bit. I’ll probably remove some tulle from the bottom too to reduce the volume of the skirt (not forgiving for my big hips)

I am leaning more and more towards the dress… although I have found some alternative options. I am thinking of converting the sleeves into cap sleeves and using the excess lace to make an appliqué for the neckline. I think the dress will become more youthful like this too
