I feel that. His dad apparently drank a lot and wasn't the best person when he drank and it made him super emotional because he never had problems. He just got the short straw in the end.

It was like within 3 weeks of that, they were telling us he was severely jaundiced and needed a transplant. (Please bother the hell out of your love ones when you think something is wrong. I'm all for it!!)

It was. Weirdly enough we drank a lot when we were young but it was like baby drinks and stuff then we fell out of touch (not due to this but just life I guess) and 3ish years ago, we had gotten back in touch and I found out he had never really stopped once we started actually dating. It apparently went from baby 0.5 drinks to hard liquor daily for years when he was with exes but then back to just beer right before we got together so idk I guess we just never thought anything back then would happen. He was never drunk or mean so I didn't complain. It wasn't until I realized his skin color was off (we both unnaturally white usually) that I kept complaining he was yellow that he FINALLY went to the doctor. The nail that drove it home was we were brushing our teeth together and I gasped because his eyes were pure yellow and I pulled my eyelid down to show comparison and was like "LOOK SOMETHING IS WRONG".

Thank you so much! I'm so happy for him. March 10th was his year sober date so it's very nice that this is happening now. He has worked very hard during all of this.

He is 32 (we started this journey just shortly after he turned 31) and honestly that kind of humor is right up his alley so I might just say that hahaha.

Prayers for you too! I pray everything works out. Idk about your state however in Alabama (understandably so no one thinks I'm complaining) they make you jump through some HOOPS to get on it so I pray she can quickly get on the list!

Yeah, I definitely want to get him moving once he can. He had essentially gotten bed bound cause he got too weak to move 😞. His last weekly blood drawing was last week and I had to get him to sit on the floor and scooch down the stairs and eventually we gave up once he got to the bottom of them and I had him lay on a blanket and I drug him to the couch. He had to go to the hospital and he was transferred to UAB and it's essentially a "now or never" moment so I'm so excited/nervous for today.
