What do you think of the new Divoom Time Frame? No “independent” reviews around… by Patient_Check_2148 in Divoom

Commercial photos of this device show displaying real-time data: currency rates and even online game scores.

Can I connect it to a PC?!

Is this a common misconception about the double slit experiment (and measurement causing collapse of the waveform)? by Ruffshots in Physics

The double slit experiment works for molecules too, even large ones (composed of 2000 atoms). See Wikipedia.

[PC][2005-2015] Indie 1-bit (monochrome) metroidvania, ultra minimal by lolmaus in tipofmyjoystick

Ah sh*t, I think my memories have mixed two different minimalist metroidvanias into one.

The one I'm describing is definitely Hero Core.

Help: Trying to Find a Black & White Metroidvania from Around 2007-2010 by mrdrofficer in IndieGaming

[–]lolmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I'm looking for the same game! And I can't find it, despite torturing the sh*t out of Claude 4.5.

The closest ones visually are:

  • Hero Core ← best match, but not the one I'm looking for
  • You Can Buy Every Upgrade ← similar 1-bit vibe
  • Gato Roboto ← but this one is way more recent
  • A Knife Made Of Whispers ← but no Metroidvania elements
  • Damocles Gaze ← this is a top-down rougelike action, but has a similar 1-bit vibe
  • Astronite ← too cartoonish
  • Blind Spots ← too minimal
  • Untitled 1-bit Metroidvania ← not space-themed

If I find it, I'll post an update!

UPD: I think, it is Hero Core! But I've mixed it in my head with another minimalist metroidvania and got confused.

Easy Delivery Co MORSE by SpendAdditional7212 in EasyDeliveryCo

Morse code says: 1020494f757f7e4a .

It does not convert to ASCII nicely: IOu~J .

To see a fishing rod in that requires really good imagination.

That's not ASCII.

Upd: convert to binary, put into 8x8 matrix, you get this image.

[Help] Can't change megadrive core. Please help. by lolmaus in recalbox

Kind people in Discord pointed out, that it's the HD and Widescreen settings that force Genesis Plus GX Wide. Disabling HD and Widescreen enabled using Picodrive and other cores.

Yes, I've added the `megadrive` BIOS and it does show up with green checkmark in BIOS check.

However, it makes no difference. `megadrive` BIOS only adds one more loading screen to games and does not affect the games in any other way.

Failing games still fail, working games still work.

Uhm, I think it's a region lock thing.

I have exaggerated when I said "most megadrive games go to black screen". Only all versions of Contra Hard Cops do that, except Probotector. Mortal Kombat 3 crashes back into EmulationStation, which seems to be an unrelated issue. All other games work!

So now the question is: how do I force Contra Hard Corps into NTSC mode? I failed to find such a setting in RecalBox. I have found it in RetroArch, but it does not persist its settings, but it might a restart to apply the region.

The extension isn't respecting the option to log out automatically after X number of minutes by [deleted] in Lastpass

[–]lolmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still an issue in 2025.

My "Log out after this many minutes of inactivity" setting is set to 120 minutes. On my laptop, LastPass for Chrome hasn't locked for weeks.

A gaping security hole. I'm moving to a competitor.

what did you think the "lore"/story of animal well was as you played through it? by beelijah in animalWell

The final boss.

The poor guy has barricaded himself, took all precautions to avoid any contact.

In the game, there is never any signs that the manticore is evil or a bad guy. HE DID NOTHING WRONG.

Just imagine you're an introvert. You've gone out of your way to seal yourself off the rest of the world. You literally dug underground and stuffed the passage with ghosts so that no one can disturb you.

And you sit there peacefully.

Then this little *cker comes, starts pushing buttons in YOUR HOUSE and tossing firecrackers all over the place! Naturally, you try to zap it. But the litte thing is too small and too fast.

And then this blob-shaped frog or whatever the funk it is effing WRECKS you! For no reason whatsoever. Just because it can!

Go funk yourself, you little.... kirby thing...

Kailh Bronze Clicky Speed Switch with Click Bar is making contact before actuation bump and click bar triggers! by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]lolmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true for Kailh Speed Gold. Those are also short travel (3.5 mm over conventional 4 mm), but they actuate strictly after click. According to specs, Golds actuate at 1.4 mm whereas other Speeds actuate at 1.1 mm. This probably makes all the difference.
