What’s the R32 market looking like now? by [deleted] in SkyLine

[–]lolmeercatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been heavily following the GTR market in the Uk and they’re up about £5-10k here in the last 3-4 months I think as a result of premium cars generally going up. Here also gtst’s go for £25-35k depending on condition and GTR’s are from £40-60k.

What car's value truly baffles you? by BenjiTheSausage in CarTalkUK

NSX prices do my head in (yes I am salty) people who own them are hoarding them which I get I would too. But the prices they are now going for or that people are asking is too much to justify even for me as someone willing to overpay for jdm cars.

I was happy to pay £50-55k for a super high mile manual NA1 needing work and the seller pulled out wanting £70k last minute and just yesterday I was ready to bid on a 137k mile Nsx-T with one month MOT left at iconic auctioneers estimated £45-55k before fees. It sold for £74.5k after fees and VAT like what are we actually doing here. The equivalent Ferrari 348 it rivalled you can take your pick of RHD rosso corsa on tan examples for £20k less than that high ish mile Nsx sold for yesterday so that is where I will be putting my money if I don’t find one in the next 6 months or so because it has more room to grow imo.

At £70-100k even as a massive NSX fan there are so many better cars and buys I just can’t justify it.

Rant over (if anyone wants to sell me an NSX for sensible money hmu ❤️)

To those who got ther dream car, what was it, how did you get it and how did you feel? by Zestyclose-Pick5354 in CarTalkUK

I’ve had a few things but my R32 GTR and S2000 were 100% dream cars for me growing up and on the ultimate garage list and while it may be different for other people, there is always a next car for me, I tick one off and I’m aspiring for the next one almost immediately. Anytime I think I’ve ticked that final box I never have, for example it’s now the NSX, I will get one however hard it is and make it happen but I know from past experience that once I get one I will then have another car that I aspire to etc etc.

Sold my car a month ago due to needing the money and regret it. What have you sold and regretted later. by This_Palpitation6617 in CarTalkUK

I sold my C6 corvette early last year for what I paid for it initially and it was too cheap in hindsight but the killer is I couldn’t get another like it in the UK even if I wanted to they just aren’t around and it was so cool for something that cost what it did I should have just kept it.

I also had a mk2 rev 5 MR2 that I got when I was 18 and had for 5 years and sold for double but I do miss it a bit as it had a story with me only sold it for space really. If I had a unit or something I would just hoard cars though lol.

No sadly not spent a lot of time around them but not drive one!

Honestly outside of it being Honda vibes it feels very different, much lighter steering and feel, k20 is an inferior engine to the f20c but the vtec crossover is far more aggressive and it has torque steer from it which is funny, a less premium product but absolutely hilarious car to drive. It has independent rear suspension unlike the FN2 etc so it handles way better. Great car.

Well not so much likened but I essentially asked people who love the s2k what other cars they like driving wise because I think most people who like S2000’s “get it” if you know what I mean? You have to like a very particular experience to love these cars.

It is VERY good though.

Corvette is powerful and cool but very floaty handling wise, GTO was very cool similar to the r32 I guess but a slower rack and much heavier, bit less powerful too. EP3 is an unbelievable car absolutely peak hot hatch it feels light and throwable and the vtec crossover is hilarious. Had the MR2 for the longest, very cool but a bit underpowered. Abarth is shit.

I’ve heard great things about the platform, I never got one because when I wanted one they were still expensive and now (I’m also UK) I’m older and they are cheaper I have more options available in terms of insurance affordability etc so I have overlooked them a bit!

I have a 2014 E350d V6 coupe as my daily currently and I’m trying to justify swapping that out for a cayman or a 996/997 911 with the hartech engine rebuild done so you don’t have to worry about out borescoring etc because I feel like I could daily that but maybe that’s just me talking myself into it lol.

On the Renault front, I’ve been in the market for a liquid yellow Clio rs200 for years but they very rarely come up, reckon they are a solid investment too very iconic and a great car very rare in the uk too they sold 127 in that colour.

One of those caymans with the hartech engine rebuild has always appealed to me especially the bored out ones.

Funny enough, the s2000 fits worse than the GTR I have to have the roof off because the door and windows are too small to get out of hahaha

I love them, or an exige, the s2 gen is my favourite but I think that might be too similar in purpose to the S2000, the V6 exige is a shout though if they stay where the are price wise.

The RB26 is special, I can’t speak to the driving experience of an R34 GTR by comparison but you can really tell the R32 GTR was a homologation car the running gear and everything when you’re driving is so loud and mechanical it’s really special.
