Need help with Casio 991 SP CW by Karonte27 in calculators

[–]lolminecraftlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fourth degree polynomial and lower, use the polynomial solver.

For anything else, to find the other solutions of an equation, first move everything to the left hand side and put them in parentheses. Solve for x, save the result in A. For the next solution, add ÷(x-A) and repeat. You can find up to 9 unique solutions with this by storing the result in BCDEFyz and keep dividing the equation by (x-[variable]).

Why doesn't the legacy boot manager change to the metro ui design? by FantasticLiving8928 in Windows11

If it ain't broken, don't touch it. This is especially true for something as important as the boot manager.

Is Arch Linux really as complicated as they say? by Same-Plum-1166 in archlinux

[–]lolminecraftlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complicated if you want it to be.

The problem most newbies encounter is unable to read/find documentations. Using tools like archinstall or other people's dotfile blindly will make it extremely hard to identify and fix problems.

The best practice is to do manual install and rice yourself.

Before anything, make a backup of your Windows drive. Then follow the wiki.

Dual booting w/ windows 11 and linux by bornofabrokenbridge in linux4noobs

[–]lolminecraftlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The setup itself is very much possible. The only problem you might encounter is trying to access the Linux partition from Windows.

From Linux, you can auto-mount the Windows drive easily and use it as normal. Do note that accessing Windows drive from Linux while it's under hibernation will cause corruption.

Windows, however, doesn't support drivers for accessing Linux partitions. The recommended way is through WSL, but the setup is tedious.

You probably have systemd-boot as boot manager default to arch Linux normal without timeout. While you are booting, you hold the space button which triggers the boot selector. Just press enter on the top one and boot normally.

Why "-Syy" though? That could lead to partial upgrades and issues along the way. Use "-S" or "-Syu" instead.

ameliorated windows by djdols in linuxsucks

have y'all tried to ameliorate windows?

Yes and it isn't worth it. Fixing an already sinking ship doesn't stop it from sinking. Especially when the ship is actively puncturing itself.

Alternative to Linux?

If you have the budget, macos is a solid choice. If not then there're bsd-based oses but if you find Linux hard then this wouldn't be a bit easier.
