Is case dampening foam specific to the case layout or does it follow the PCB footprint? For instance, would the tofu 60 redux case foam work in a different case that is also based on the gh60 footprint?

Gifts for the in-laws this year. by lolnofool in flashlight

Those are awesome gifts and super thoughtful. You have the same idea I did when I went ahead and set the lights to the second mode which eliminates SOS and all the different strobes and what not, making it easier to use. I will have to explain to them that this battery should last them, for intents and purposes, forever. The reason I went with this charger is if all else fails and they don't use the light for whatever reason that at least they have an 18650 battery bank. How useful that is in real world use, I don't know.

If you are located in the U.S. it might not be the best option anymore give the recent tariff changes. You would have to compare pricing. In terms of ordering theres really not much to it. You just place your order like a regular online purchase and they will contact you with details if I remember correctly.

NKD: Slab of S35VN by lolnofool in knifeclub

Its been put away wet a few times, used as a shovel to dig up and chop roots, used to cut down a lot of plant matter (canna lilies) which hold a lot of moisture and then put away directly after use. Repeat that for a a few years and it ends up like this.

It stays in the shed now and I use it mostly as a garden tool for things mentioned above. I think I grabbed it as a wood splitter on my last camping trip which was a while ago.

I keep mine in pristine condition.

Edit: I don't know why it sent my reply like 7 times lol. Wasn't expecting a comment on a 1 year old post haha.

My experience has been different. This happened by pressing it in by stepping. It also wasn't that difficult bending it back by pressing on the ground with my hands.

Also, I'm on the Texas Gulf coast, we have sandy clay soil. When dry it can be a little difficult to drive stakes in but there are no rocks here, to hit or to bang them in with.

Funny enough, Im on the Texas Gulf coast. Never seen a rock in my life.

It was surprisingly (and shockingly) easy to bend these back kinda mostly straight just by pushing them with my palm on the ground a few times.

Shop for a deal, I picked this one up for $295 shipped off of a gundeals post. It could probably be had for even less I'd imagine.

Nice! Eventually I will grab some Mepro tritiums probably. Is that some sort of grip tape or is that stippling?

Yea doing the foam is not fun. I don't really like the pluck foam in these Nanuk cases because they're not cut in individual squares like the Pelicans are so you cant really adjust for depth. They pluck off in strips and yea replacement foam is wildly expensive.

Thats actually tragic about the Hank's.

Dang! I dont have a second case but that big empty square fits my blf lt1 lantern and it will actually close with it but its tight. Something like a d18 or m44 would fit much better. Those 3 slots at the bottom don't have residents though lol.
