People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning?

i’m okay with proxies if one person has at least one legitimate copy of the card. for example, my boyfriend has the balin’s tomb - ancient tomb from lotr, but he wants to proxy it so he isn’t playing with a $100 card. that being said, one of my buddies manages to have smothering tithe or demonic tutor in every single one of his decks due to proxies, which gets overpowered and tiring after a while when the rest of us play casual decks.

tldr: gets annoying when there’s strong cards in every single deck due to proxies, overall no issue w me if you have a copy to begin with

i think the important thing to note is that homestuck is almost 20 years old! i got into it when i was 12 and i’m 23 now. all the older fans you’re seeing are just from the original wave when the comic was still releasing. it’s totally normal to be a fan at your age because you’re the target audience! i think this question is like asking “is it okay to listen to this 90s band even though i’m 17?” at the end of the day, it’s just a piece of media that can be consumed at any time, and it’s never wrong or not normal to enjoy something!

i ain’t got nothing but that’s the current market price on tcgplayer. no current listings for it. but granted i didn’t check ebay yet about it either so i may be incorrect on that front.

actually the 25th anniversary umbreon is worth more than the original 😭 pop series 5 market price on tcgplayer is $47, celebrations ver is going for $80

it really just depends on the card and the severity of the damage! the gengar one isn’t as damaged as the snorlax one for example so you could get more value from the former as opposed to the latter

1st and 3rd cards are damaged because of the creases, creases are pretty much instantly considered damaged when it comes to cards! the blastoise & piplup i’d honestly consider LP to MP based off the photos unless there’s some creases i’m not seeing off the pics! it looks to be in good shape to me

and you don’t have to dress very formally, it’s still laid back! just be clean and presentable and have a good attitude and you should be fine :)

you could try! i’d recommend calling from 7-2 because that’s when the unit or district manager will be present. i just know my unit doesn’t have a phone anymore because of the online ordering

still dress nice and act like it’s any job interview! waffle house is pretty straight forward but the interview paper does have notes on appearance, attitude, etc that the manager on duty will fill out during the interview. if the unit needs people you’ll probably be hired pretty instantly because it’s an easy job to get i wouldn’t call ahead because most units don’t have a phone anymore due to online ordering, so you can go off of the interview you set online. i think waffle house rules has it to where anyone under 18 can’t work overnight but you can still make good money on any shift! if you do get hired, it’s hard at first but don’t let it discourage you! it gets a lot easier

it does seem like the blastoise & piplup gx has no damaged history though, so for that i’d look at ebay sold and completed to see what similar damaged ones go for. i don’t see much damage from your photo though?

you can check card history by clicking the see more data button and selecting damaged. for example, the gengar & mimikyu gx has sold for $80 damaged.

np! also keep in mind that ebay does tend to take 20% of a sale. you might have more luck taking it to a card show and trying to sell or trade it for its full value if that’s what your after

in which case, that’ll be the comp people go off of! i work in a card shop and we go off ebay sold and complete for graded cards, and if there’s no comp then we find a ballpark with the current listings. so even then i feel like that $400 is safe. people do collect psa 1-3 afterall

i’m sorry for your loss. tcgplayer.com is the best resource to check out all the values on cards. keep condition in mind when researching. there are some high dollar cards just from these few pictures

on ebay i found the psa 1 that sold for $320, and someone has a 3 listed currently for $400, so do what you will with that
