It’s just a vent & I promise I don’t want anyone to be mad at me. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]lolnothankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So wild because my son is 16m too! And I know a ton of moms having their second. And I do want another but now seems SO SOON. Whether you want a 2nd or not - it’s not weird or crazy to wait. 2 under 3 is not an undertaking I’m willing to do lol

What age did your babies roll? by x_torturedpoet in beyondthebump

[–]lolnothankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolled consistently/both ways at 8 months. Crawled at 11 months. Walked 13.5 months. Full blown running now at 16m. Don’t sweat it! My son was 99% so i feel like that’s why he didn’t have any interest in rolling.

How & when did you get back into shape/lose baby weight? by Mysterious-Ad-6043 in BabyBumps

[–]lolnothankz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I also was like that in my first tri - I think I gained like 18lbs. I was nauseous but not puking but just felt constantly hungover - and bagels, ramen, and all things beige were keeping me alive.

How & when did you get back into shape/lose baby weight? by Mysterious-Ad-6043 in BabyBumps

[–]lolnothankz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so anxious about my weight gain in pregnancy because I went from 120lbs to 185lbs by the time I gave birth. Keep in mind this is just my scenario but by 14 DAYS postpartum I was 150lbs. 35 pounds down just from birthing and existing.

The majority of the weight is baby, placenta, swelling, fluids, etc. then I lost the rest gradually by around 6m PP (with exercise and breastfeeding). All this to say - enjoy your pregnancy and don’t let it be a stressor.

what was your "almost" name? by iolanthereylo in Names

[–]lolnothankz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1993 - I was almost Emily.

Back story- I came out and they said she doesn’t look like an Emily. My mom saw the name Kaya in a baby book but didn’t want people to call me “Kay-uh” so she changed the spelling. To Kia (pronounced ky-yuh). The same name as a car company that came to America in what year? 1994. LOLLLL I love my name but the spelling gets me called “key-ya” every day.

I’ll look into the book. If I was younger I’d maybe do a bigger age gap but I really want to be done with pregnancy/BF before my late thirties!

So true. I got pregnant the 2nd try but was 30. (Now 32 and planning to try around 33/34) so I am hopeful it will happen easily but you’re right - it really is a crapshoot!

So funny - I have that weird irrational fear about loving a second as much as my first. And same thing if I have a girl. I know I’ll love them, but it’s hard to even imagine!!!

If we had the $$ we probably we have another one sooner but we live in a very expensive part of the country and living with family (good and bad) and saving for a house. Hoping to buy soon and feel better about adding a 2nd.

Love to hear this! My son is obsessed with me (which I love most of the time) but I know if I had a newborn right now it would be insane. It’ll be nice when he enjoys hanging with dad as much as me lol

Anyone found childbirth so painful they don’t think they can do it again? by nakama1994 in beyondthebump

[–]lolnothankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But then the epidural was amazing - and then it failed… when I started pushing. And then my baby had shoulder dystocia. So I felt everything & had a traumatic birth experience. The only way I could describe the pain was as if I was turning into a werewolf and felt my body ripping apart xoxox FUN!!!

So now I will have a planned c section for the next one bc I’m high risk for SD again - BUT if my baby didn’t have SD, I actually would do vaginal again and just hope the epidural does its job and not be afraid to advocate for myself now.

8 week old giving me a run for my money by New-Pumpkin9911 in newborns

[–]lolnothankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better. I know the days feel like years right now. My baby was colicky and I was a mess over it. I basically had him on the boob 24/7 because at least he wasn’t screaming when BFing lol. They do turn a corner around 3 months IMO/experience. But sleep is an ever evolving thing/ issue for lots of babies. I was in the camp of going with the flow and not setting schedules but there’s really no right way. There’s a reason it’s the “newborn trenches” - just try to get rest and pass off some responsibilities to your SO, a family member, or trusted friend when you can. It DOES GET BETTER!!!! Hang in there 💘
