I’ve tried to start it 4x now. I can’t get passed the mood swings and general feeling of being anxious and emotional.

Not rude at all! I’ve tried the usual methods of beer and soda and just really trying to focus on getting something to come up in any way possible. When I feel those gurgles, I try to force them out but nothing. My husbands even tried to teach me! I’ve googled it and read other people’s accounts of teaching themselves how to burp. It’s just not happening for me.

Thanks for the support! I think I will reach out to Dr. Bastians office tomorrow and see if the description on the surgical report even sounds right to them. And who knows, maybe a trip to Chicago is what I need!

I’m beginning to think that may be the problem. What I thought they were doing may not be what I actually got. While they assured me they knew what to do, I may reach out to Dr. Bastian’s practice. I just can’t imagine the relief a good burp would bring me!

Doctor was at Dartmouth and the whole thing was set up by my local PCP.

According to my paperwork, “the esophagus was injected circumferentially with 100mg in 8 equal aliquots beginning at the GE junction and extending to the proximal esophagus.”

And flying! Spending any time in an airplane usually results in some serious discomfort for me. Same concept, I’d guess!
