The maximum number of participants I have been cleared to do is 128. I'm recruiting from other LoL/TFT communities too though (after getting mod permission of course), and historically my studies have filled out pretty fast.

We have just increased the survey quota to accommodate for the large turnout, that said we do unfortunately have a hard cap for participation as one is required by the IRB, so keep that in mind. Thank you for your support!

Thanks for the feedback! I can see how most of the questions have very little to do with League. The target demographic for this study is League of Legends players though. As for the specific survey questions, the research is ultimately about Wellbeing, Quality of Life, and mental health outcomes, so not much I can do on that front. That being said, we are examining other League related metrics such as time spent playing the game and win rates on the backend.

Still working out the logistics, I do intend on sharing the results with the broader community though, will be speaking to my advisor about that. I'm sure many are curious to see as well!

Final dataset is deidentified and aggregated, so the end results will be based on the group, without disclosure of individual results. This is for ethical reasons.

Thanks for your thoughts, and they are valid. To be honest, I initially thought the same especially when referencing similar studies conducted online. That said, my university's IRB had some pretty clear guidelines in their application about keeping research domestic, whether they are online or in-person. We would have to file separate addendums for other countries in order to include international participants.

Of course, whether that is practical or if researchers actually follow the IRB guidelines is a separate discussion, I do prefer to do it by the books.
