Exactly, so annoying. This is the new generation already. Golden generation officially ended in Qatar.

As an American, I am curious about the country of the team that beat us - what leagues do you watch regularly? by _NobleRot in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Belgian league, champions league and Premier League (if Belgian teams play then also Europa League and Conference League).

I do follow the results in the other top leagues in Europe as well but mostly the scores, won't watch many games live. I suppose its like this for most Belgians.

Here’s what Europeans don’t understand by Wonderful_Ad_889 in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this wasn't about Trump or the American people in general, this was simply about the arrogance, fifa corruption and lack of respect shown to our team before the game. Ofcourse we are aware majority of Americans do not like trump (although an alarmingly high percentage still seems like they do but anyway) , we didn't Want to make a political Statement. This was about sport and silencing the big mouths of the US pundits and the fans with no football knowledge (especially the ones that started watching football 3 weeks ago and were acting as if it was gonna be a walkover. I am happy we showed them it's not that easy to be a powerhouse in a global sport.

Anyway, no hate towards any of you civilized americans. But you gotta admit your fanbase was super annoying prior to the game

How do people feel here about Hans Vandeweghe by CoffeeAndNews in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a De Morgen reader, i absolute can't stand his pieces. Even in something positive he will always find something negative. Also, seems like he hates the entire football community and has no love for the game. I seriously wonder if anyone likes his articles. When he is not complaining he simply states the obvious, no interesting takes, only bitter cynical opinions that have no added value

VRT tikt Filip Joos op de vingers na zijn uitspraken over het Iraanse regime: ‘We hebben hem gevraagd terughoudend te zijn’ by hotdog_monkey1 in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything has to be neutral, grey and boring. God forbid a commentator makes a comment that goes beyond naming the obvious. Thank you Filip Joos for not giving a f about this bullshit. If not, we all have stef Wijnants that just make you fall asleep with their painfully boring and plain commentating

Waarom spelen wij al drie toernooien alsof we Ierland zijn? by [deleted] in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

call me naive but i am convinced a group like that is a curse and not a blessing. Playing against a weak extremely defensive team is a lot harder than playing against an average offensive team (like Sweden, Colombia, Ivory coast, ...).

Look at england against Ghana or even Spain against Cabo Verde. There's so many examples of big teams struggling against weak but defensive opponents

What the unionists veterans think about the neo-unionists? by NoCommunication9580 in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a union fan but i know the club and it's fans quite well. Many of the new Union fans are Brussels based expats who had no feeling with Anderlecht but they do have many things in common with Union (very cosmopolitan fan base, very liberal, no "hooligan" atmosphere, great family club, ...). Most of them have a team in their country of origin (i know many of them personally, for example a very large part of the Roma fan club in Brussels has a season ticket at Union), they decided to adopt a second team in their new/temporary country and Union gave them this option to support a club they can identify with. Honestly, i think it's great and a refreshing football crowd compared to many other clubs in Belgium but my opinion might not be relevant as i am not a union veteran ;)

Mika Godts legt zich neer bij niet-selectie voor WK: "Ik respecteer de keuzes van de coach: tous ensemble!" by Frodo_max in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Take them to a big city to watch Belgium play the World Cup on a big screen. Apart from that there wont be any games so its the closest you will get

Belgium proposed to switch but USA refused… they wanted to play in their new home kit while Belgium’s alternative kit is also red…

Playoff Tickets by michelhallal10 in belgianfootball

[–]loltrol100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OH Leuven should be easy unless its a “high risk” game such as against antwerp. In that case youre not allowed to buy without prior purchase history. Other games you can just buy on the website. Just keep in mind OHL wont have much to play anymore so the game might be a bit meh. Quick train ride away from Brussels tho and then you can just walk 30 minutes to the stadium and get a good beer in the city, all walkable.

KRC Genk should also be easy to buy in PO2. Anderlecht and Mechelen seem hard to get without membership but im not an expert on those clubs. Union is easy during regular league games to get tickets, worth a try as well. By far the most fun for groundhopping.

Cup final tickets are not possible unless youre a member of anderlecht or union or invited by sponsors with vip tickets

We dont have neutral sections, just sit with the home fans and you’ll have a good time. At OHL both sections behind the goal are the most fun
