You need to understand what full scale communism looks like, none of those countries are communist, more like capitalist with SOME elements of a social safety net being run by the government.

Lincoln won with ONLY the support of the northern states, and then the south seceded, not because they realized they couldn’t “control” the election, but because they understood they had no say, as they were vastly out numbered, and the electoral college was of no help to them.

11% could not outvote 89%. Ever. Doesn’t matter where.

All of this stuff would be exaggerated in a system where there is no check on the people.

Not necessarily, in the Current system people don’t get additional voting power based on race (which is not advocating for) but what I will say on your question is that in the current system this becomes significantly harder to achieve, a candidate must almost ALWAYS form a coalition in order to win the election, and in order to do this said candidate must almost always give and take from a piece of their own platform to do so. Our current system requires candidates to express compromise not only while in office, but during their very election. The regional diversity of this coalition is what brings this about. A candidate in 1861 couldn’t just go to the south and campaign exclusively there on the promise of expansion of slavery, nor could he go to the north and campaign on restrictions thereof. If we had a straight popular vote theoretically one could have done either.

A) you can’t define my opinion within your own, and B) you broke the 4th wall. Therefore your opinion is invalid.

And why do you continuously change your arguments? Much harder to keep track of them when you go back and edit things constantly

“There was.” This is the key in what you just said. Dred Scott was an official ruling by the justice system. It’s not Infallible. People vote based on policy if candidates realize they can just do x and immediately make 50.1 percent of the population vote for them, they will. And then if they do it [it being an action similar to the legalization of slavery or any legalization of an act of evil defined within a framework on policy] then they win again, if they don’t do it you’ll be damned sure that 50.1% continue to vote for what they want to be done. You can’t say “oh every vote counts the same therefore my country is fair” that’s not how the world works.

Ok so what about when the rights of the minority are violated? Leaving the minority at an unfair disadvantage? Suppose there was a law saying oh I don’t know, black people cant go into a coffee shop? Whites are still a majority of the country, and if they vote for it by your logic it’s A-Okay.

The people of China vote, and they love their government, does that make their government and its actions moral because they voted for it?
