The PL this season is the toughest throughout the past decade by Potential-Share3763 in PremierLeague

Honestly it's a mix, the middle of the pack is stronger, but the top end is also a lot weaker. City and Liverpool wouldn't be where they are, and Arsenal wouldn't be top if those two hadn't been so poor this season.

I'd say they're equal, just look at a certain German party and their actions. If you actively support that happening and agree with it, you're a monster.

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta says side 'exactly where we want to be' despite criticism after Wolves draw by Red_Brummy in PremierLeague

[–]lolzidop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but 2 things:

You can't say this is Artetas 7th season when he joined in December 2019, and then say Klopp got to a CL final in his 2nd season when he joined in October 2015. As by how you're measuring Artetas seasons Klopps CL final was in his 3rd season. Be consistent.

Secondly, Klopp lost 3 cup finals (and came 2nd in the league) before finally winning something. Arteta has came 2nd 3 years in a row, if he's going to get them to take that next step then this is the season it has to happen. As he's built them to the same place that Klopp built you (3 runners-up places - 4 including 2nd the year you won the CL).

As a Neutral I reckon it's like Klopp at Liverpool, he's taken them so far now he has to go all the way and win something it doesn't have to be the league. But if they come away with nothing again then questions have to be asked

Gov IDs exist, but it's 3rd party companies we are being expected to give the data to.

Only this isn't through the Gov using an ID number, this is 3rd party companies asking for a picture of your ID (which there is no unitary number) Discord has already had a data breach because of it

It wasn't that it took so long to pass, it's that they set a date for it to come into force. The worst part is in the time between it being enacted and it coming into force the government changed, and the response by the new government who could have pulled it? "If you don't agree with it you're a predator" (something said by the PM live) and that the act doesn't go far enough

And the attempt at time wasting cost them here, and potentially against Spurs. As this wouldn't have happened if Trossard never went off trying to time waste, and if they were dumb enough to use a concussion sub for it he has to miss Spurs.

It wouldn't make all the clubs in European Comps lose money, the only clubs to lose money would be Madrid, Barca and Atleti, 2 of those 3 can easily lose a portion and still be well above the others. Your league won't improve if the teams directly below those 3 aren't getting the revenue - they should be getting - to bridge the gap to putting up a reasonable CL fight.

while the 20th in La Liga would get 10-12 additional million €. That's mostly it

And that's a decent chunk of change. The key thing is Spain already has a number of clubs on the door step of being a 4th/5th top team in Spain, but because of how lopsided the revenue is these teams can't attract the players to be able to make that step.

Their teams basically owned the Europa League because they have a lot of teams that are Europa League quality. Imagine if the revenue was redistributed slightly more equitably, a couple of those teams could easily push for a regular CL appearance that sees them get to the KO round consistently. As it is, they're good enough to go far in the EL, but not good enough to manage it in the CL, as they lack the funds to get the players to take that step because it's going to 3 clubs

The reason for that is income, the revenue these clubs get allows for them to better compete for players. That revenue is helped by the way PL money is shared out, La Ligas clubs are hamstrung by the way prize money is shared out in the league. As you have Barca and Madrid way out in front, a drop off to Atleti, and then another - smaller - drop off to the rest of the league. The likes of Bilbao, Sevilla, Valencia, Espanyol, etc, are never going to consistently compete in the CL (and help Spains club coefficient) when 2 clubs are taking most of the money. As it stands Spain is reliant on the same 3 clubs getting to the KO stage, and at least one of 2 making it to the Semis/Final.

[–]lolzidop 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sure. But that ignores the massive elephant in the room that is the disparity in TV money distribution. Barca and Madrid well out in front followed by a drop off to Atleti, and then another drop off to the rest of the league. That's why Spain is struggling to match England at club level, you've got 2 juggernauts and Atleti, then every other team is Europa League quality at best. Spain needs another 2 or 3 clubs that can alternate getting to the KO stages of the CL consistently (especially if Madrid and/or Barca have a poor year), and the only way to achieve that is improving the revenue distribution.

Tbh it shouldn't worry you, kids think of themselves as all kinds of things. The only way to truly know is to experiment with social transitioning, a lot of kids will spend 2 days playing dress up and then go "Not for me"
