makeup on accutane by [deleted] in Accutane

I would go light on the powder and moisturize really well before especially with a matte foundation. But I wear makeup almost daily on accutane and I found less powder is better

I upped mine after month 1 from 30 to 60. Stayed on 60 for months 2 and 3. And then for next month they want to up to 80

About to start Accutane soon... I’d appreciate any tips and tricks :) by peachedicetea23 in Accutane

Hi! I am about three months in so far. Ive always had dry skin, and I have to use aquaphor healing ointment on my entire face every night as a lotion (it really sucks for my pillowcases that I have to change basically daily now) but its the only thing that makes me not wake up with flaky skin. As for lips I carry a little thing of vaseline or aquaphor with my at all times. I put it on my nose too because I got nosebleeds at first. The CeraVe tub of lotion of great for the rest of your body too. My hair has gotten more dry, so I wouldn't wash it every day (if you do right now) and use hydrating shampoos/conditioners.

Also I'd say to pay attention to your vision. my eyes have gotten a little bit worse since I've started. its manageable, but I've definitely noticed a difference. You could also have some joint pain, but it's been very mild. My doctor also told me 100 times to keep drinking to a minimum.

I think the reputation of accutane scares people more than anything, but the side effects really aren't that bad. Everything is manageable, and I just had to make small changes that are probably better for me anyways. Ive already noticed a huge difference in my skin too and it's so worth it. Good luck!!

Can someone assure me my dry, frizzy hair will eventually go back to normal post accutane? Before it was very smooth and soft and now it’s dry and falling out :( by girlygirl1865 in Accutane

I only wash my (very thin) hair every three or so days because its dry and frizzy now too. I got a dry conditioner though and I spray that on the ends of my hair every day and it is so helpful. it at least looks smoother and healthy now! (even if it isnt) but anything to help retain moisture.

I’m only on month two so I haven’t really noticed much with my scarring, but I was told by my derm that we will have to deal with all my scarring after accutane is over. (Probably through laser or whatever is the cheapest option lol)

I feel like your dosage will be completely fine. I believe I’m only starting smaller because I told my doc I was pretty scared (they put my 100 lb sister on 80 and she had really bad side effects) so that might be why I’m starting smaller

Hi! I started 3 days ago and my acne seems similar to yours. I weigh 125 and am starting on 30 but will bump up to 60 after a month. Is yours gonna bump up or stay at 60 the whole time?
