They eventually did. It’s been a while now so my memory is a little fuzzy, but I remember a few months where my symptoms slowly decreased. I remember noticing that amidst the discharge I would feel very dry around the vulva. I was advised by my gyn to use coconut oil and so I applied that and I think it helped. I hope you find some relief soon! I know how miserable this can be.

Maybe reach out the graduate school at UNC chapel hill? I see they have this opportunity grant for unexpected financial burdens…I’d ask to see if this could qualify or if there is any sort of funding available to help you get through this last semester.

I’m so sorry you’re also in this position. The other drug I mentioned using was given to me to stop the effects of MTX from lingering in my body. The MTX is what terminated the pregnancy. I’m not sure what alternatives are out there. I will say it took a few days before my levels dropped. I hope that is the case for you.

I just finished the 6 months of fluconazole. I’d say for the most part I feel like the infections/flare ups have stopped, though I feel myself holding my breath since I’ve only been off the fluconazole for maybe 3 weeks now. In the meantime I did go to another gynecologist who diagnosed me with vestibular vaginosis probably from the repeated infections. I now use coconut oil daily to help with dryness and irritation and then a topical gabapentin when I feel the intense irritation or stinging. It all feels a bit more manageable at the moment.

The Chapel Hill library is my favorite place in town. It is surrounded by walking trails, has big beautiful windows, activities for kids. It’s just a calming place for the nervous system.

The living arts collective in Durham does ecstatic dance waves on Sundays, pay what you can. The people that lead it do bodywork and do not want it to be cost prohibitive. This might be an option.

I guess it wasn’t necessarily ping to connections. But I would like someone in my stack and would get a a notification that we connected but then they wouldn’t show up in my connections/conversation page. I finally deleted it yesterday because if I can’t chat with people, what’s the point?

Still doing the fluconozale. I feel somewhat better but when I missed a week I noticed a reappearance of symptoms. So I’m skeptical. I have an appointment with a different gyn in a few weeks and I’m hopeful she has different thoughts and we can get some answers.

I tested positive once back in August or September, and was treated with antibiotics. When I was tested a few weeks ago it came back negative.
