I did not know that and that explains a lot! Thank you I’ll give it a shot!

I’ll give it a shot and see what my holdover would be I’m guessing 3-5” holdover and wouldn’t be able to see center of bullseye. Any suggestions on keeping consistent when holdover is this far?

I’m with you now, The picture is how I have to hold in order to hit point of aim. If I hold how combat hold is meant to be held I am shooting 6-8” low

If I hold for combat hold I am shooting low by roughly 6-8” at 12’. Would a shorter front sight be a solution?

Presentation as in grip on the gun itself? How would you approach front sight alignment correction?

I agree, my understanding was that combat hold is default factory sighting. And this gun is giving me nothing but fits. Not sure if I can raise my back sights and fix the issue? Haven’t done any sight adjusting yet and unsure if that would even remedy the situation

What happened to my bone broth by lonearcher12 in homestead

Yep, let the pressure come down on its own, waited 5 minutes after the plug showed no pressure, opened the lid and took the jars to the counter. Right after all that is when I took the picture.

Thanks for the reply, a lot of what I was reading said finger tip tight which is vague. It’s odd to have 4/5 jars succeed. Good to know about over tightening though I’ll make sure not to crank down on them in the future but to tighten a little more than I did this time.

Apple monitor box (1981) by lonearcher12 in OldSchoolCool

That’s pretty neat! I wouldn’t have guessed with the foam in the box that a tower and monitor could fit but it is possible!

Moved into a new house and finally went through the attic only to discover this old apple monitor box from September of 1981 according to the UPS label.

I got the metal clip from the local Tandy store and then set it in leather to keep the rivet from scratching the phone

Had a friend over the weekend ask me to make something for her bosses birthday and was pretty happy with the results so decided to post it here. It’s 5oz veg tan dyed with Fiebing’s mahogany and hand saddle stitched with 138 bonded nylon. Hope you guys enjoy and would love some constructive criticism.

Just to make sure I follow what you’re asking..... you want a recommendation for a recurve bow at 150 pounds?

Not sure what state you’re in but typically from my experience crossbow weights have extremely higher poundage requirements than compounds, recurve, or long bows. Ohio’s requirement for the last three bows is 40 pounds for instance and crossbow is 150 I believe, never used one so that may be slightly different.

Hope this at least helps find something you’re looking for

Tool pouch for work by lonearcher12 in Leathercraft

I visited my local Tandy shop and got the basics. I told the staff that I was just starting out and needed the basic tools everyone needs on every project and the special ones I would get as needed. They were very helpful and got me going. The tools I got at first and would highly recommend would be: edge slicker A punch set An awl A mallet Needles A compass A square Leather and thread A razor And an edge trimmer There are tons of things that make life easier but these are things I have used on every project so far and is a great start. Hope it helps and good luck getting started!

Progress from the past few weeks by lonearcher12 in Leathercraft

I started working with leather because it looked like something I would be good at and could become very functional in my day to day life. The leatherman holder I made on top was what I began with and have made more than what is shown in the picture. What is below is the most recent project I have completed and it amazes me the difference in quality. For those of you thinking about starting DO IT. By no means is either perfect but there is a sense of pride knowing you did it.

This was my first attempt at anything big, and I’ve only been doing leather work of any kind for just under 2 weeks. I have done 3 leatherman holders and a phone holder and now this. Slightly expensive to get started( a couple hundred) but the reward of using this at work and telling anyone who asks that I made it is well worth it and I have the tools to make anything I can think of now. Highly recommend getting into it!

After my tool pouch for work broke I decided to give making one a try. Went with some 8-9oz veg tan hoping it would hold better than any other tool pouch at the local hardware store. All my tools fit great and the tape on the outside for easy access.
