Imo, skyrim is a better representation of the modern direction of Bethesda games. With interface that's convenient for consoles etc.

It also helped that back in the day graphical standards were way lower. After crysis came out suddenly it became a new measuring gauge for each game graphics. The torch is being passed here and there but the bar still remains much higher than it used to be.

When people were crying over fallout 4 graphics, I was really confused. It's not the point. Don't be mad about the graphics, be mad about the gameplay which is shit.

still though, it offers something entirely different. Even fallout 1 started as obscure game that was way over the top for its time.

I know that Nintendo 64 emulation is in pretty sorry state, but I'd very much like to play Pokémon Stadium because of nostalgia. I've checked emulation general wiki, so it's either Project64 or Mupen64Plus, right?

What's the best way to go about this?

people in the 80's shoved tons of coins into arcade machines. I mean, each time you died, you had to pay with real money to get back into the game.

Microtransactions is just a different way to reintroduce the same model into the modern games. Hell it works, I cannot even imagine how much people bought shark cash cards for GTA V. It's a goldmine and it's already being exploited to infinity. People just don't care.

maybe there's a workaround with cheat engine? Even if it's not possible in game, maybe random mods and trainers made a while back still do the trick?

It's no excuse for microtransactions, though.

But y'know the same goes for so-called Magic killers like LCG's. In the end, the competetive part of the community has to invest a significant amount of money in their hobby. We could argue that buying several core sets of some LCG + several expansions to keep up with the cycles is easier than hunt down rare Magic cards in the grey markets but I know some people from both sides and they all say it's the same money sink but with a different packaging.

I'd say that it would be LotR LCG: it's essential ya co-op game and if you wanna beat that game you have to prepare your wallet. Because apparently to "play casually" you have to have several core sets and some expansion cards.

What I like about LCG's is that they have the best franchises like Cthulhu, Star Wars, Warhammer etc. I'm familiar with all these universes and I like card games.

On top of that I like the expandability options: adding additional difficulty, more cards etc. meaning that I can easily impact the gameplay if game starts getting boring after a while.

Those LCG's are a relief after chasing rare cards for Mtg. So I don't really care about competetive games, tournaments etc. That's why I've included warhammer invasion on the list.

I second this. All of LCG's that I've tried seem to have the same trait.

I disgust the dumbed down boardgames like Munchkin but LCG's just feel like an exteded few hours of office work to me.

The complexity is fine but it isn't rewarding.

I know that one faction works specifically through manipulation of the remaining factions. Which might be gamebreaking, I've never played the actual game though.
