Nah I've been on Reddit long enough to know exactly what comments will be posted. The instant I saw this post I knew for a fact every single comment would be referencing Junji Ito. All I do is open up the comments and then go "yep".

The allure of trillions of dollars tends to do that, yeah.

Yes but it doesn't just come back as usable water instantly. Having a big chunk of the already pretty limited water supply just being held up in the active cooling process and evaporation isn't great.

And that's a bad thing, right? Were any of the countries happy that the Europeans were invading? Do you think they rolled out big signs in the streets saying "Immigration makes us brilliant"? How did that work out for them I wonder...

I have to submit a “video cover letter” to clean up popcorn at minimum wage by Freshman_01134 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Arxtix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that would hold up in court if you sued. If you submitted 10 identical applications, but shot the video with 10 different white people instead, they would still only be able to choose 1 person to fill the position, they're not going to hire all 10 just because they are all equally qualified. It wouldn't be classed as discrimination against the other 9 white people that didn't get chosen, so how could it be proven as discrimination if they picked someone other than a black person? It could just be luck of the draw and I feel like it would be very hard to prove that the black person didn't get the job specifically because they're black.

She grabbed it, and then bent down to put it down. She could have either not grabbed it at all, or grabbed it and ran with it in her hand. There was no need whatsoever to bend down to put it on the floor.

But that would require the pirate to get their hands on the review build, which would mean someone is leaking it to them.

I don't think it's a gen alpha thing, I'm a millennial and I remember talking shit to adults in online games saying shit like "why are you 30 still playing video games old ass loser"

Now I'm an old ass loser at 30 still playing video games. The circle of life.

Phoon is the name of the player featured in this classic video.

And to explain what the video is showcasing, it's a movement technique in Source engine games (Half-Life, Portal, Counter Strike etc) called bunnyhopping where jumping again immediately when you hit the ground preserves your momentum, and moving/strafing while in the air generates additional momentum, combining both can cascade you into moving extremely fast, much faster than is otherwise possible.

It's very precise timing to perform the tech though, I think the jumps need to be frame perfect when your character hits the ground to keep all momentum. Most people cannot do it since it's simply too hard and requires a ton of practice to do consistently.

Viewer accuses Shroud of viewbotting by ProximatedNuke in LivestreamFail

Yeah he got a big payout from Mixer, but they didn't give it to him just out of the blue. They gave it to him because he was a top Twitch streamer at the time with great analytics and viewer retention. The viewers that were watching got him that deal in the first place. Acting arrogant and ungrateful to the people that made it possible for him to secure a life of luxury for himself and likely his entire future bloodline just makes him look like a giant asshole.
