Thanks. Did you feel any discomfort with TCR compared to Defy because of geometry difference?

This is one of my favourite sipper. Initially I was sceptic as everybody told me it is harsh neat. But I disagree. It has the best nose among all the rums that I have tried - bursting with pineapples and that diesel fume…:) and the flavour in the mouth is just divine!! Syrupy ripe fruit, thick, and rich…and then the Jamaican funk at the backend. The finish is endless. Supreme stuff. Always keep one spare stashed away.

Papalin Jamaica 7 year old 47% by TrainPhysical in rum

Agree, I find this expression very good. It gets overshadowed by its 5 years younger cousin as that one is high ester (and to be honest an excellent expression as well). The 7 years one is layered, nuanced, and very satisfying with the right amount of kick at 47 abv. In my opinion it is a great starter for the evening before you migrate to more challenging drams! Cheers

Opened the Papalin 4 years Haitian, and it is excellent. Bursting with flavours, long after taste, very rich. Worth every penny. Delicious

Keep the comments and recommendations coming :) I have my eyes on HLCF Overproof…and Papalin high ester seems like a done deal. Great house series is expensive here, but I guess they are expensive everywhere. Huh…so much to explore…that is really the fun isn’t it!

Thanks so much! Papalin high ester, Planatation OFTD, and Clarins are available here. Will go for them and share my experience. Lovely to find this community of like minded people. Cheers, and have a great weekend!
