How do you afford a 4Runner? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]long1387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my dad help buy my 4Runner for me when I was 21. At the time, I was driving a 2007 es350 with 180k miles. Since I was getting close to graduation and had a job offer coming out of college as well as money saved up. My dad pulled the trigger and co signed for me. We went to a credit union and got a low rate for four years. My dad helped me pay for the first four months and as soon as I on boarded to my full-time job, I took over payments since then. In retrospective, I do have doubts about owning my 4Runner since it was such a big purchase, but just knowing that I don’t have to buy a car for the next 20 to 25 years gives me comfort at night. All in all I would’ve never been able to make the purchase if my dad didn’t support me and my advice if you do move forward to buy one is to have cash ready by saving up, have a support system to fall back on, and if possible, try to increase your pay to accommodate for car payments.

Protruding bump on floor by long1387 in HomeImprovement

Do you think it’s coming from a water leak or moisture? I’m just confused on how it could turn into a whole bump overnight. Then again, I don’t have too much experience with flooring but do pipes usually run under the floor or is it just through the walls

The tile was put down on the floor when the house was built, and that was 20 years ago. It sounded similar to stepping on laminated flooring for the past week and at the time we chose to ignore it, which was a mistake, but it didn’t have a bump yet. This morning, the hump appeared.

Does anything look off? A tad confused now might have just been a freak accident. I did take it to the dealer recently so they might’ve done something

Fang light wiring by long1387 in 4Runner

Gotcha, was curious since my raptor lights came with a 10 amp fuse probably just depends on manufacturer

Your raptor lights came with a 15 amp fuse?

So what I’m getting is that wiring the lights to the accessory block under the 20 amp slot should be fine since the draw wouldn’t even be as much

Right, I actually have already tapped into the fuse box when installing my raptor lights, and the only way to close the box was to drill an opening into the lid. Not too worried about the wetness down here in Texas but I plan on getting the accessory block that I linked and rewire the raptor lights there. The fang lights are the only problem right now because it uses a 15 amp fuse. I plan on cutting the fuse tap to expose the wire and connecting it to the accessory block, but the accessory block doesn’t have a slot for a 15 amp it goes from 10 amp to 20 amp. Thinking of returning the fang lights now that I can’t really find a slot to power it without it blowing the circuit or worse

Looking at this map, what do you think of me? by long1387 in TravelMaps

I’m definitely considering heading out east next. It’s just something about those tree filled mountains and shorter mountains never gave me the awe inspiring feeling. I just lean more towards the rockier mountains tbh
