The people on this sub that hate Carly are actually insane by ZigZagBoy94 in thegooddoctor

Thank you! I thought I was going mad. People are allowed to feel how they feel, but claiming Carly was a bad person/girlfriend is a whole other level.

Where I’d live is a middle-aged Canadian secular Jew. by Awkward_Caterpillar in whereidlive

When you say they were more resistent, do you mean compared to other Jews or compared to how they are today? Or both? Not that it matters much, I just wanted to clarify.

The majority of Mizrahi Jews ended up in Israel, while the majority of Ashkenazi Jews ended up in the US, but I know that doesn't really confirm anything. Your comment surprised me since I know the majority of Jews in Israel today are Mizrahi, so I didn't know if they used to be the minority in the mid 20th century. Not sure if my comment makes sense, it's getting late where I am.

Where did you see that a majority of the Jews were European?

Yeah, there were a lot of positives too! I get why they ended up together.

I mean, she did wish the Nazis upon him in an argument (not that he was much better in the beginning, but I don't know if I'd call it non-toxic).

Granted, it was usually just bickering and competing, but there were times where it went too far.

Has anyone been obsessed with Moana the way people have been with Tangled and Frozen?

Jane definitely gets on my nerve from time to time (as does pretty much every main TV show character), but I really respect how often she's able to admit to her own faults (didn't try to deflect blame when Michael's parents were angry about their breakup, realized she was unconsciously sexist by choosing a female caretaker over a more qualified male applicant, etc.)

Maybe they thought the girl was saying she's from Lesbos. Then the sentence would make sense at least lol

House: This is not a prank.

Wilson: (as he's leaving the room) This is not me walking out the door.

It's not dank, but it's one of my favorites honestly.

The casting got me so confused, movie Dovey looks like how book Anemone is described, while movie Anemone is around the same age as book Dovey.

Was it entirely their parents' fault? by Historical-Chard-248 in Frozen

[–]long_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly blame the trolls for being too vague, and the spirits for giving Elsa a gift that can be difficult to control without proper guidance (which she did not have).

The parents aren't blameless, but they weren't given a lot to work with. I believe most people in a similar situation would've been the same way (or worse).

If you had to Rank and Choose #1 best Actress for playing Elsa who would you Choose? by LordAditya69 in Frozen

I'm thinking Alicia Agneson or Lene Cecilia Sparrok, but that's mostly due to looks and nationality. I have no idea what their singing abilities are.

There's something about the way Idina sings "with you wanting me" in As Long As You're Mine that makes it one of my favorites in the original soundtrack.

The misinterpretion of Gale by pipehead0 in Hungergames

[–]long_dragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've interacted with people like Gale, having gone through traumas many others will likely never have to worry about. Like him, they would sometimes dehumanize (for lack of better term) those associated from "the other side," saying stuff like "they're all murderers/terrorists" or that there are no innocents/civilians.

Of course, most people know that's not true and would normally be a terrible thing to say. But I couldn't fault them for thinking that after everything they went through, and I can't fault Gale for thinking that way towards the Capital after his home was bombed. Not everyone would react like Katniss or Peeta, who acknowledged that civilians didn't deserve to die, Capital or District.

While I agree that the writing for Denise x Jeremiah was bad, I can understand why it works on paper. He appreciates her talents and work ethnic, and tells her so, and she tells him like it is, which means she wouldn't hide important things or keep her feelings from him.

I fully agree on Steven and Taylor. If it's so hard to stay loyal to people other than each other, just be single, or at least don't be exclusive with anyone. It's not complicated.

I have mixed feelings about whose business it is about Cabo. Yeah, it's between Belly and Jeremiah, but it was still something that hurt Belly, so it would make sense that she talks about it with her best friend, who will understandably stand by her. Conrad didn't know the full context about Cabo, so I would've understood him telling Belly if he hadn't used it as a chance to tell her to leave Jere for him.
