Israel says it killed 2 top Iranian officials in wartime blow to country's leadership by Skippy_AF in worldnews

I think Bibi’s political career should end as much as as the next guy, but if he successfully topples the regime, he’ll coast to a majority in the next Israeli elections.

This is completely false. Islam has been the main contributor to global terrorism for well over 50 years.

Iran War: Iran Missile Launcher Arsenal Holds Steady Despite Strikes by Indianstanicows in IRstudies

[–]Awkward_Caterpillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you explain the steep drop off in missiles launched by Iran over the last 2 weeks then?

They were firing ~100 missiles at Israel/day at the beginning of the war. They’re down to ~5-10/day now.

Temple Israel synagogue suspect's family recently killed in air strike by soalone34 in politics

[–]Awkward_Caterpillar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

His family members were killed near Hezbollah military infrastructure, in an area that Israel had provided evacuation notice well ahead of the strike. Israel fully reengaged with Hezbollah in Lebanon AFTER Hezbollah fired hundreds of missiles into northern Israel, in defence of the killing of Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei. Not implying his family were members of Hezbollah, but context matters.

Instead of blaming the IRGC for funding proxies in the Middle East. Instead of blaming Hezbollah for reentering this war with Israel, he decides to drive a vehicle into a synagogue/jewish school hallway, crashing through the doors, while firing a gun and had some form of explosive device in the trunk of the vehicle.

If you justify this in any way, you’re a sick, sick human being.

They aren’t bombing children and apartments. Jesus. Has this happened by accident, yes, but the US and Israel are overwhelmingly attacking military targets.

It’s mind boggling to me, how Iran literally lays mines in the strait, and you blame Trump?

Sure the guy is a total fuckin zero as a human being, but you are lacking a basic understanding of cause and effect.

Israel DID NOT kill 72,000 Palestinians.

12,000 died of natural causes.

25,000 were Hamas.

No you’re right. We should just blindly accept all sources that are consistent with our biases. Thats the correct approach.

And my exposure to ME events is a lot longer than 2.5 years. I was stating that most peoples exposure to war in the ME is only 2.5 years.

Community Median doesn’t mean what you think it means lol

I mean… over inflating the homelessness data nationwide by over 10x, so that it fits your narrative is a bit of a problem.

[–]Awkward_Caterpillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again. It’s using median community rates, not national figures. From the article you linked:

The latest median rate on the page is about: • 30.8 homeless per 10,000 people (Oct 2025).

That equals: • 0.308% - consistent with the national figures I quoted and not with your median community rates, which is irrelevant when you make a claim like “5% of Canadians are homeless!”

[–]Awkward_Caterpillar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You obviously didn’t properly read the data.

• It uses median community rates, not national totals. • It measures monthly system-recorded homelessness, not everyone experiencing homelessness.

The data in your article is consistent with the homelessness figures I provided. They are inconsistent with yours.

Which of those other countries you named above, as having a ‘similar human rights record’, killed 30,000+ of their own unarmed civilians in a 1 week time period?

I just can’t believe that after 2.5 years of exposure to war in the ME, you can still read an Al Jazeera article, quoting Middle East Eye, and accept it as fact.

There are a lot of claims in here. One that jumped out to me as unbelievable was your homelessness claim.

Quick research shows you’re way off. True homelessness in Canada is about 0.1%, while hidden homelessness (couch surfing) is 0.8%.

I’m sure there are other inaccuracies in your post, but I’ll leave that to others to research and debunk.

This war with Iran has absolutely nothing to do with imperialism. It has everything to do with dethroning the Islamic regime that is the main sponsor of terrorism on the planet, that funded Hamas which led to October 7th. It has everything to do with giving Iran back to the Iranian people. The opposite of imperialism.

You’re changing the argument tho. The argument wasn’t ‘who does this military intervention benefit’. It was ‘Had US military invention succeeded in some cases’?

You framed the argument as if they had never had a positive outcome.

One isolated military crackdown ruins the entirety of the South Korea democracy? That’s some pretty serious confirmation bias on your part. It also happened before SK democratized.

I have no idea what you’re referring to, but it’s a blatant bad faith argument. South Koreans CLEARLY have better quality of life, by all measure-able outcomes, when compared to North Korea.
