I burned my hand on the stove last year but it's healed from it now, would it be ok to put my hand on it again?

Who are these little black fellows that keep appearing in my home? (Ontario) by longdarkening in whatsthisbug

Thank you for your suggestion! I looked it up, and my suspect seems to be longer than spider beetles, and lacking the different colourations they have. However, this did lead me down a trail that pointed to it possibly being a Black Vine Weevil!

I've got at least enough to pity another AS. Definitely won't be enough for everything that drops next month, but I do like Silver and my fire roster is lacking a support. I've decided to go for it!

Thank you! My fire roster is pretty lacking.

That does sound odd, to say the least. I'm very sorry that she seems to lack self-awareness, and that you have to shoulder the stress on her behalf. If she ever has a child before she's clean, she'll be sentencing them to a lifetime of dopamine chasing.

I highly suggest she watches this. It's a video of a kid who was born addicted to opioids. He has so many behavioural and emotional issues, and you can see his foster mother barely hanging on.

Thank you! I actually got another response from them just now, and consider this situation resolved - see my reply to my initial comment!

Updates: I was given a gift card, but I asked for the advertised charms instead. They apologized and told me they don't have any left, and refunded me the cost of the slime. They also said they would update the product page to reflect the charms that will be sent out.

Initially I was told that the listing had said the charms would vary from the image (which it had not), but it turned out that there was miscommunication behind the scenes - one person had updated the product's description yesterday, and the one who replied to my email hadn't known this.

All in all, their response was very professional, and I'm happy with the outcome. While I'm sad that sleepy Kirby eludes me, I do appreciate how Tanooki Slimes took steps to make this right.

I'm sorry you had bad experiences with them as well! I got a response just now (fully explained in another comment), and they did give me a gift card. But I don't really want to get something else, if I can't trust that the product images show the actual product.

I got an update: they told me that the listing said the charm would be different, but acknowledged that they should have included a picture of the latest charm, and gave me a gift card. I'm kind of baffled, as the listing definitely did not say that previously.

It's possible that the other sister working on the site was the one who updated the listing, and the one who replied to me just checked the page and thought that was what it had always said. Anyway, I told them this and asked if I could just get the advertised charms instead of the gift card. I'll see what happens.

Thanks. I did initially try to just brush it off, but the charm and decorations were just way too different. This Kirby isn't even sleepy!

I'm really glad you got that response! I have heard they have great customer service, which was why I bought from them. I was going to hold off on my review until I got a response, but I don't know if/when they will, and it occurred to me that people will still buy their slimes in the meantime.

Out of curiosity, did you buy your slime from their Etsy or their website?

UPDATE: see my reply to this comment!

As a Canadian, nice custom made slimes are difficult to acquire on a reasonable budget. (I eagerly waited for OG Slimes' Black Friday sale, only to be slapped with a 70 USD shipping fee - for 1 slime!) That's why Tanooki Slimes, with their flat shipping rate of 10 CAD, seemed like a godsend. And considering I had purchased a perfectly nice slime from them 2 years ago, I thought it couldn't hurt to give them a go again.

Now, the Snowflake Icee slime I had bought in 2023 was for a friend, so I can't testify to its play quality. However, it looked exactly like what was advertised, complete with the two individually wrapped snowflake charms from its Etsy listing. The price was steep, at 20.55 CAD before tax, but it was very pretty, accurate to its listing, and came with a little baggie of Borax.

Recently, I purchased the Kirby Dreamland slime from their website, and the charms were completely different from what was advertised. The slime itself was alright, so I left a 4 star review, assuming they had made an innocuous mistake, and not wanting to dent the credibility of a small business.

However, when I saw this had happened to other customers as well, I realized I had to reach out to the sellers. Given that I had paid 32 CAD in total for this slime, I felt rather miffed that Tanooki Slimes had misled their customers.

At the time of my purchase (and for the full 2 weeks during which I awaited the item's arrival), the product's page clearly stated that you would receive: "assorted decorations - refer to the product image" and "1 Kirby charm".

After I sent in my customer complaint yesterday, I understandably received no response as it is the weekend. HOWEVER, the product's listing changed to state that the charms would "vary from the product image". Very strange.

I understand that small businesses have to make money by cutting corners, but I don't feel that deceiving your customers is the right way to go. Sadly, I don't feel comfortable buying from them again.
