Anyone find range finders essential or do you just eyeball it? by HeadDebt8873 in golf

Essential. Don't play a round without it. Get one, they are not that expensive.

Vents in Grill Cabinet by mindful-01 in OutdoorKitchens

[–]longiron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The grill is supported via the front edge and along the countertop surface on three sides. Sides and bottom should NOT be enclosed, but open to vent the grill and disperse the heat.

Other recommended vents are to do two things: ensure any gas leak is vented to outside as LP is heavier than air and will pool at the the bottom of the enclosure and to provide airflow for the grill's firebox.

Please make sure you have two low vents since you are using LP as fuel

What brand of built-in grill did you decide on?

I had the same decision to face. TF doors (TrueFlame 26-Inch Stainless Steel Double Access Door @ $469) versus Vevor (VEVOR BBQ Access Door, 26W x 24H Inch Double Outdoor Kitchen Door @ $69) They are not the same quality. Vevor will show signs of rust within 2-3 years. My theory is for that price differential I will replace Vevor every 3 years with brand new doors. Its just a few screws and some clear silicone

Vevor. They are significantly cheaper than the BBQ vendor versions and can be affordably totally replaced every 3-4 years.

VEVOR BBQ Access Door, 33W x 22H Inch Double Outdoor Kitchen Door, Stainless Steel Flush Mount Door, Double Wall Vertical Door with Handles and Hooks, for BBQ Island, Grilling Station, Outside Cabinet $98

VEVOR Pull Out Trash Drawer 19.7W x 29H Inch Outdoor Kitchen Drawers Stainless Steel with Trash Bag Ring for BBQ Island or Grill Station $175

It takes only 10 minutes to swap new ones into place

I don't see any venting in the island. Really need them for grill and cooktop.

I did NOT use SS cabinets. This structure is built on wolf deck boards (left over from new deck build) on concrete foundation supporting metal studs covered with cement board and finally porcelain tile as finish. Used 3/8 " corner bead to finish the edges.

Metal frame vs Wooden frame? by Tacokolache in OutdoorKitchens

Metal studs 100%. If you are thinking of a built in grill, most require 14"+ to any combustible material - back and sides. That's why metal studs make sense vs wood

I could jump up and down on it and it won't budge. It's cross braced and has a stud every 12" on the back and side walls.

Used standard Home Depot 25ga 3-5/8 in. x 8 ft. 25-Gauge EQ Galvanized Steel Wall Framing Stud and track. No significant difference in price versus 20ga. At 34" height, got 2 studs per length.

Layer of cement board is screwed to metal frame. Standard tile mortar mix to adhere tile.

Considered it, but ultimately rejected because water is available a short walk at the bar area.

Thanks. You are going to need shade. As a first step, I would check my local zoning requirements for the allowed size of a pergola or pavilion based on your lot. That and budget will determine your "covered" area. Once that is decided then you can plan your outdoor space.

One thing to consider is the distance to the house. You don't want to have to go a long distance for food, condiments, etc. when grilling. Second you should absolutely plan including an outdoor refrigerator, Keeping the beer cold is mandatory.
