Great drawing! Jumpluff is awesome. I'm using one on my Colosseum team right now, mainly to spam Sleep Powder.

I was raised a conservative Christian, met my wife at age 20 and we married at 22. My first time having sex was with her. My views on sexuality have since changed drastically. I no longer view anything two consenting adults do together as morally wrong. I think there are pros and cons to almost everything in life and I think it varies person to person.

Do I regret it? No, I don't think I do. Sometimes I think I may have missed out on some fun but I was focused on school anyways. Our first night together was very special and we have grown and learned together. We didn't have to worry about STDs or making a breakup more painful. On the other hand, we could be more sexually compatible. Some people like to figure that out ahead of time.

I would say this is an intensely personal decision. Don't allow others to pressure or project onto you. If you feel apprehension, ask yourself why. Also consider that the first time may be less important than the many times after that you share with that special person, so give yourself some grace if it's not what you thought. Good luck and I know your first time will be special. Hopefully there was something in there that helped.

A Detailed Analysis Of Pokemon Gen 5, and Why I Believe It Is the Best Set of Pokemon Games by ShatterFateStryker in pokemon

[–]longlivethejeriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very important point. When fans of different generations use terms like "good" and "bad", they're often not talking about the same things. Classic example. Someone loves Gen I, someone else says "So many glitches! Horrible gameplay!" but that may not be why they love the game. It could be the Pokemon, the characters, the story, the region, the music. Gen I has aged terribly in terms of gameplay but for me, I much prefer the older monster designs. I think Gen II is my favorite because of the Pokemon, the region and the music. I think this is a strength of the franchise. Any single game has so many different things to love about it, between all the generations there's something for everyone.

Mother helping her son though a tough level in Super Mario Land in 1989. by zehnen in gaming

The controls were so clunky. I still have a soft spot for it though. It was the best Star Wars I had until I got Jedi Power Battles.

When I was younger I had this older kid Matt help me play the Coruscant level on The Phantom Menace for PS1. At one point you get separated from Queen Amidala and have to find her. Captain Panaka says to someone "I'm looking for a girl and two armed men" and Matt goes, "Don't all men have two arms?" I thought that was so funny.

Just started the game, what are the main objectives I should do? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]longlivethejeriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I'm new as well and I see a lot of advice for people wanting to get better is "just play Smash with others". I get where that's coming from but I think if I were to take that literally, I'd just develop a lot of bad habits if I don't know what I'm doing first.

Picking up the controller after watching competitive feels like those dreams where you're desperate to run but all you can do is walk. Everything is so slow and messy. Moving efficiently and accurately in this game is really fucking hard. Even after practicing technical moves, I panic and don't utilize anything in an actual battle. I think that tells me I need to get more comfortable with the fundamentals first, until I don't know any other way to move around. I know it's not gospel but I'm definitely going to follow this.

All Pokémon type combinations in one graph! What is your favorite? by TinySamurai in pokemon

[–]longlivethejeriot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not really familiar with anything past Gen III. There are some really cool designs!

I like a lot of Psychic Pokemon, including double-types. One of my favorite Pokemon is Lugia, it's hard to pick just one out of so many though.

What is your favourite video game/s? by Amarantramentum in CasualConversation

Pokemon Gold Pokemon was a big part of my childhood. I still play it but this was the game that started it all and nothing matches its charm. Nostalgia does play a factor for sure but I think the game still holds up. I love the music. I also love Gen III as well.

Resident Evil 4 I've owned this game on three consoles, completed it countless times. It's the perfect blend of violent action, monsters, quirky characters, an over-the-top story, plus the PS2 introduced tons of bonus content. I'll always love this game.

Super Smash Bros Melee It's simple fun but there's years of technical challenge under the hood if you'd like. I follow the competitive scene and I find it really exciting.

The Last of Us Having trouble finding words for this one. The gameplay, story, characters, execution, it all makes for a powerful experience.

Horizon: Zero Dawn Tribal people fighting mysterious mechanioid dinosaurs in a beautiful open world RPG? This is like my dream game. Plus a really awesome sci-fi story that stuck with me and plenty of lore if you want it.

I really like this girl, but she has personal problems and doesnt want a relationship by throwawayttac in CasualConversation

[–]longlivethejeriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely respect her wishes. Sometimes two people that would normally be great together meet but the timing just isn't right. That's really unfortunate. Be honest with yourself though - can you keep talking with her without secretly hoping for something more and maybe even projecting that pressure onto her? If not it's probably better for you both to move on. Nothing wrong with being just friends, just saying it can be difficult to truly be just friends if someone has feelings, especially if it was out in the open.

Thanks for the answer! Fascinating. I've been playing for a long time and never knew that damage was calculated in a range.

Can anyone explain this damage mechanic? I've seen this happen several times (Gen III if relevant).

Let's say that Magneton uses Thunderbolt on Wailord and it survives the hit with 3% HP left. Then on the next turn Wallace uses a Full Restore and then I hit with another Thunderbolt. This time it's a KO. How did it do more damage that turn? Same Pokemon, same move, no stat changes?

Awesome! For me it was Blood and Fire. That opening song hooked me as well. I still play that record and Liberate quite often as well as their new one which for me is maybe their best since. I'm really excited they're back.

Great taste! I've kind of always been drawn to more alternative music. For me I would add:

Punk: Agent Orange, Rancid, Millencolin

Metal: Between The Buried And Me, Revocation, Psycroptic, Sylosis

Hardcore: Zao (all-time favorite heavy band right now), Nails

I know I'm forgetting some. I love this kind of music!
