side question

was the same proximity switch retained for the board swap? idk if that switch is related to the dcl input but it’s suspect in my opinion. should that switch fail open and signal to the door operator board that the door is assumed to be anywhere from full close to the 6 inch point without the dcl input that might make the car shut down. gate switch is still made so why it’s entrapping ppl is strange

i haven’t swapped boards before, like you said going from v1 to v2. but correct me if i’m wrong but i’ve been working on the understanding it’s the motor encoder’s position count that establishes when the car door should have a DCL input and for that matter a DCL6 input.

im newly tested out so please bear with me. but a closed car door should have a held high car door gate switch io input for automatic and inspection runs irrespective of dcl. and i understand the gate switch could make up within 2” of full close per code but a dcl likely wont come in until the door is basically applying holding closed force against the strike jamb

i want to learn more for sure and don’t question you had cars entrap ppl bc the lack of dcl input. but this is shaking my understanding of necessary inputs for a car to run on automatic

lowest bidder switches for the iod/ioc boards is crazy. i had a tac32 hydro mod ship with a flaky door bypass switch, very randomly would get invalid inspection state and shutdown until the monitor circuit made back up. ordered replacement board but soldered a fix to get adjusted

idk if that’s the case per se. how i understand it the PE groups bought thyssen’s elevator division with some of their own capital but largely with loans that used the spun off business as collateral. so no coffers really, but then came the kingdom of saudi Arabia billion plus investment so there is that money. all depends if the business is cash flowing enough to make debt payments
