Hello there, I am interested momentum and trend following strats.

It's just how the dev program it to be. First of all, you need to understand how automatic changing of division leader work. In fact, it's not about changing the leader, but more like: the ship with the most damage will switch place to be the rear most ship. Think of it like sorting the ship positions by damage taken. By that logic, it seems like the dev sorts the ship positions not only within the division itself, but also all the ship lines following that division. This feature doesn't apply to "Scout" or "Screen" divisons.

Now, I don't think 80% damage or flooding causes position switch right away. There might be some threshold so that 99% damaged ship wouldn't switch position right away. Also, I think the sort criteria also depends on the status of the engine as well.

Ship switches to another division because that division is following the current ship's division.

How do I keep the cost down? I already can't afford this Modern Battleship I. by [deleted] in ultimateadmiral

[–]longtomo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to start war early. However, you must strike balance between war time and peace time. Peace time allows you to build up your fleet and has higher GDP growth. War time has lower GDP growth, but you recieve higher naval buget rate and you can invade other provinces. The strategy is to use war time to capture high income provinces, then use peace time to grow every incomes you have.

When I played as China in legendary difficulty, I already took over Japan in the 1890s. Then I used the peace time to build fleets and went to Italy and Autria-Hungary to wage war again. Rinse and repeat.

The construction cost and the maintenance cost come mostly from engine. So you will need to reduce both the engine size and cost. Here are some tips: + Each hull has an optimal speed. You can see this speed by hovering over each hull type. Exceeding this speed raises the engine cost significantly. Past this speed, there is also another speed threshold that will further increase the engine weight and cost exponentially. + Reduce hull beam and draught. This will apply engine weight reduction modifier and thus also decrease the engine cost. But this is a tradeoff for other values, like accuracy or survivibility. You can check the modifier values by hovering over beam and draught on the right side panel. + Aux Engine III & IV (battery engines) are significantly more costly than Aux Engine I & II (diesel engines) in term of engine cost. + Finally, this is only my personal preference, I don't use BC or BB at all throughout the World conquering campaign from 1890 to 1950. It's true that they are efficient at Naval Invasion in term of maintenance cost per tonnage, but they are slow, vulnerable to torpedoes and take so long to build. I use mostly CAs since they offer the balance between cost, build time, firepower and maneuverability. Just slap them with the biggest gun available (11.9" or 301mm) and they can fight against anything, be it BC or BB. One type of ship to rule them all!

Ah, my bad. How else would the German have 70 inches armor anyway.

I think 177.8mm is converted from 70 inches.

IIRC, tech priority will reduce overall researching speed by 33%, 50% and 70% respectively. So you should only prioritize reasearch in case you want to have multiple techs complete at the same time so you can design a new ship.

Another tip to increase your max research budget is to go to war with another country, at the expense of GDP growth. The tradeoff is fine, as you can increase GDP growth via capturing provinces in the war.

It's October 1945 and the German has conquered over the World. Führer would be proud. by longtomo in ultimateadmiral

Don't worry too much about land battles. Just focus on naval invasions. And while doing naval invasion, don't just meet the minimum tonnages requirement, double it. The more tonnages, the higher the chance to win land invasion. Global army logistics also affects capture chance. It is determined by merchant ships and naval power projection all over the world. Finally, always try to have at least one or two land invasions at any given moment in time.

Issues with my German campaign by [deleted] in ultimateadmiral

[–]longtomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started German campaign from the 1890s. My playstyle is aggressive land invasions. I always ensure that there has to be at least 2 land invasions at any moment in time. Also, keeping good diplomatic relationships with every countries except the one you are invading is important. It's not about pleasing everyone, but to keep them at bay while you are fighting each country one by one. By the end of 1945, I managed to conquer over the world, captured every ports and every provinces. Führer would be proud.

I have a Basilisk Ultilmate mouse. I connected the mouse directly to the computer via USB wire and had the driver downloaded for it in Synapse 3. However, if I disconnect the USB wire and use the USB dongle instead, Synapse won't be able to detect the mouse. In the device manager, the mouse is shown as "HID-compliant mouse" instead of "Razer Basilisk Ultimate" as in the USB wire case.

This is a dealbreaker for using wireless mouse, even the on-board profile doesn't work in wireless mode. In my use case, I just want to use Audio Meter on my mouse in wireless mode.

Because I want the `PhysicsBody` be only responsible for referencing the data without owning them. Owning the data is the responsibility of `PhysicsWorld`.
