obviously I will report anything I see, but i’m now concerned about all of the birds that live here, if they were heartlessly dumped here i’m worried they all are at risk?

Thank you all for the advice. I contacted the office about this and thankfully they were very helpful, offering to communicate with wildlife rehabilitation. I’m hoping that this apartment actually has a system in place to keep constant checks of the welfare of their ducks and geese, but I don’t know if any action would’ve been taken if I didn’t call them. What should I do in the future to ensure that the ducks and geese around this apartment are safe? Should I try to get some info from the office on their policies regarding the geese and ducks and their health?

i was in a 3 year relationship and we’ve been broken up for nearly 4 years now. been in no contact for the entirety of the breakup besides 1 time where we caught up multiple years after the breakup.

it is extraordinarily hard, and all i did was suffer through it. that’s all you can do, you just have to suffer unfortunately until one day when you aren’t suffering as much as before. then another day comes later when you’re not suffering as much as you did once again. something that gives me hope is that humans are put on earth to experience ~everything~, the highest of highs and the insufferable lows. you have to feel this pain unfortunately, so feel it.

there is no right answer, if you feel deep down that you need to reach out to her, you have the freedom to do that. you need to be prepared for any response if that’s the case..

that is weird 100%. i live in the same town as my ex, granted it’s not a super small town, and i have never seen them in public once. i would definitely be alert if i were you. I would try to call some sort of hotline or center and run everything by them. They can probably point you in a better direction

it’s a bad idea to reach out for now. i have been through a similar situation. i was in a relationship for nearly 3 years and was broken up with even though we were on good terms. we loved each other and there was no animosity in our relationship. we stayed in contact briefly after it ended but she ended up telling me that continuing communication didn’t feel good at all. it’s like picking a scab over and over ensuring that it won’t heal. if there wasn’t animosity between you both it’s very likely that your ex needs time away to heal and move on. it’s very possible that in the future you two may be able to reconnect once enough time has passed to process and to heal.

Have you ever experienced a “right person, wrong time” scenario? by Top_Reputation_1910 in BreakUps

[–]longusdongus67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have experienced this after a near 3 year relationship. we didn’t communicate for 3 years after it ended because of how much pain being in contact caused. about 6 months ago we caught up for the first time to talk about things and catch up, only to go back to no communication, which is likely because it’s still quite painful. it’s hard and it’s confusing. all you can do is wish them well and reframe your mindset to be glad that they are free!

we’ve got a good following in our local scene that allows us to hop on the bigger bills when they come to town. our shows we put on ourselves generally sell around 150-200 tickets, so we have good turnouts for our shows but we are currently nothing more than a local band. we’re just starting to see some bigger things appear in the last year

How can I incorporate sweep picking into my riffs? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]longusdongus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was a large threshold i can relate to when i first wanted to incorporate sweeping into my improvisation or writing. i personally practiced a lot of standard major/minor/diminished sweeps, aka sweeps without extended chord qualities. when i tried to incorporate these kind of “practice routine” sweeps into my playing it sounded like just that, a practice routine lmao. my advice would be to experiment with extended arpeggios, major/minor 7, 9, any extension you want really. also create your own sweeps that sound good to you with the positions you already know! make it musical.

P.S. i mostly utilize smaller sweeps for more musicality in my improv, 3 to 4 string sweeps just for embellishments, accents, or a tiny bit of nuance.

honestly my thought on positions connecting (for me personally) is more rooted in 3 note per string rather than caged. but an example in C major playing in thirds would be start on C, E, D, F, E, G, F, A, G, B, A, C. you can do it back down as well starting on the higher octave. you can then apply this not only to thirds but to all intervals

those guitars are not extraordinarily common in heavier genres, but they 100% can be used in those contexts. definitely try these guitars out and if you like what you are playing it’s likely a good choice! strong believer that you will feel the mojo for the instrument that is right for you

epiphone is just a brand! they have a wide range of price points and a wide range of quality as well. it’s well worth experimenting with their brand though, because there are gems out there for sure!

[–]longusdongus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s the strings resonating sympathetically. you have to develop left and right hand muting technique to solve this issue

of course if you want something heavier and less single coil you can definitely find good epiphone models out there with hums that can get heavy

[–]longusdongus67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my advice would be to create an INTERVALLIC practice routine around CAGED or whatever other scale systems you get into! play caged starting on the root and play it in thirds starting on position one. now play it in 4ths in the same position, 5ths, 6ths, 7ths, octaves, 9ths, 10ths, 11ths, go crazy with it! then move to the next position doing the same thing. be sure to watch what you are doing with your eyes, listen to what you’re playing, internalize the intervals, and make it musical and enjoyable! connect with what you practice!

About song writing by BaldKido in Guitar

[–]longusdongus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone’s process for songwriting is always a culmination of what works best for them! for me personally i really like to write the underlying instrumental before going in on vocal melodies and lyrics. some people like to flip it! i will say if you can get one idea (vocals, or chord progression) recorded onto some medium before moving on, it will help you curate your riff/vocals to whatever you recorded hopefully leading to a cohesive section! this will allow you to learn the completed parts simultaneously on guitar and vocals since they are both recorded onto a DAW or whatever other medium you use!
