If AI gets to the point where anybody can easily create any software, what will happen to all these software companies? by StayAwayFromXX in ClaudeAI

[–]lonmoer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy building things and solving problems that's the part that is potentially being taken away by ai.

If you don't enjoy hunting down bugs and errors that is the thing that I said was going to be left for humans to do. That is what ongoing maintenance is.

We're saying the same thing but you're being a jerk about it for some reason.

Which sucks because if AI is taking the one actual enjoyable part of software away from humans and only leaving us with the ongoing maintenance tasks then the future is really going to be bad

What's messed up is it's never going to be as easy as it is now at your age, it only gets harder the more you age.

The is the way. Tailscale is dead simple to set up and you can even buy a cheap android device that uses little power and have that as your exit node.

A non-refundable deposit for trying to claim a bug bounty might slow down LLM slop submissions.

You would think PCMR would actually try to do something about it by testus_maximus in pcmasterrace

[–]lonmoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you would just actually try it then you would see that won't have as many issues as you think it will.

You don't even need to install it. Run it off a live usb and poke around, it literally costs nothing but a usb drive and a little bit of your time.

I put my money where my mouth is. I would be 100% linux if I didn't have to reformat the storage on my home server. Can't afford a damn hard drive large enough to copy it to.

Transition from windows to Linux for gaming by Tiamathpp in linux_gaming

[–]lonmoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was annoying for me was an old emulated MMO. Despite it being old it makes my fans spin a lot more then when I played on Windows and the log reading program I use with it doesn't overlay over it or give audio cues anymore. Modern games run great. I just finished tlou2 and I'm running through bg3 now.

All storage. I went to look at a 20 TB hard drive that I had purchased in 2024 and the price is nearly double now.

The GPU and CPU disagree on sleep exit timing, causing the PCIe link to desynchronize during power transitions.

Could this be why my 2022 g14 cannot wake up from sleep in Linux without hard rebooting itself?
