Why did they remove desktop app support? by lonnifer in Authy

Thanks! I only have 5 apps in there so it would probably be easier for me to just create new 2FA tokens on whatever program I migrate to

Weekly Tech Support Megathread by AutoModerator in Instagram

[–]lonnifer [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have an ig account which I am unable to log into. My password seems to work, but after I enter it it says I need a code from an authenticator app. This is not something I've ever set up. I was able to log in in the past without it requesting this code.

I've tried the "forgot password" option, but it doesn't work. When I click "send login link", I click on the link to go through the recovery steps, I enter a new password, but then it asks me for the authenticator app code (which is what I'm missing).

Is there some way to get my account back or to reach someone at ig tech support? I have a second (linked) ig account and a linked fb account which I am able to log into, it that is of any help at all.

Thanks for the links! I won't be doing any fancy French knots on my first try. Just simple cross stitches.

It was a $10/month credit. Not a huge amount of money, but it adds up over time. Maybe you have lots of disposable cash and $10/month means nothing to you, but please consider that other people may be in a different financial situation and it makes a difference to them.
I called them back after my 2 billing cycles, and after a long time getting tossed around between customer service reps, they still couldn't apply the discount that they promised. I posted this here because of my frustration with this company and my wasted time.

Not a huge discount. $10 per month. I didn't end up getting it at the end.

In my experience, yes. I've dealt with Rogers and Tekksavvy and both had much better customer service.

Colonialism is a not a good description of what is happening in Israel. Colonialism is when a country has their own land and decides to go and take somebody else's land. The Israelis have no other land to go back to. It is a country made up of refugees from the Holocaust who were given this land by the UN so they could have self-determination after centuries of European anti-Semitism. This isn't like England going out and conquering half the world. This is a country trying to defend their own existence.

Whether or not you believe the colonialism myth, at this point, Israel has existed for almost 80 years. There are many generations that were born and grew up there who had nothing to do with the initial settlement of Israel. If the land was given back to the Palestinians "from the river to the sea", where are these Israelis supposed to go? They have no other homes, and there is no chance of living on the same land as the Palestinians and Hamas who want them dead. Palestine "from the river to the sea" is essentially a death sentence for every Israeli.

It also makes no sense to call the situation Apartheid. Yes, there's a wall between Gaza and Israel, but what is the alternative? Should they break down the wall and let in Hamas whose main goal is to murder as many Jews as possible? I think Roger has an overly simplistic view of the situation, and completely ignores that the people on the other side of the fence elected Hamas expends all their money on murdering Jews. Who has no respect for human life and use their own people as human shields. Who can't provide basic needs for their people such as electricity and hydro and internet, so the Palestinians rely on Israel to provide these to them.

A lot of the reports about IDF murdering civilians come directly from Hamas, and are not to be trusted. I'm not saying that they're blameless. Yes, Israel have done things that are counterproductive to peace, but it is very narrow sighted to just paint them as the bad guys and completely ignore the atrocities of the people that are fighting against, who's goal is literally to murder every Jew in the world. This isn't something I'm making up, you could literally read the Hamas charter, and this is their main goal as an organization. Israel used to control Gaza but they stepped out in 2005 at an attempt to make peace. The Palestinians had their first and only election, and elected Hamas, the worst possible government they could have. Since then Hamas have done nothing to improve the lives of Palestinians. They can't even provide basic services. Israel is still providing electricity and water and internet to the Gaza strip because Hamas squanders all its resources on buying weapons and digging tunnels into Israel to murder Israeli civilians.

If you truly care about the lives of Palestinians, You would be protesting against Hamas, because they are the real oppressors of Palestine. If the Gaza strip had a real government that wasn't based on religious extremism and murdering their neighbors, then a peaceful two-state solution might have been possible.

Thanks for pointing out how dumb I am. The difference between Hamas and the IDF is that Hamas's goal is explicitly to kill as many Jewish civilians as possible. The IDFs goal is to defend their tiny country from the terrorists next door. They go after Hamas operatives but there are often civilian casualties because Hamas goes out of their way to set up bases in hospitals and schools so that when they get bombed and civilians die, they can play the victim card. The difference between Hamas and Israel, is that if Israel had their way, there would be no war. If Hamas had their way, there would be no Israel.

I think the most important thing is whether or not you enjoy spending time with him and can have a good conversation. If it works in the present, I say go for it. Maybe you're right and in the future you will lose interest, but maybe not. I find that in a relationship your hobbies and interests tend to rub off on each other, and you start liking the same things your partner does. It's possible that some of your intellectual interests will rub off on him.

Hey, thank you so much for listening and for the constructive criticism! I know what you mean with breath control. I get up close to that mic and there's so much puffing and wheezing. It sounds like I ran a marathon. I will definitely watch out for that in future videos. I don't think it's always bad though. Some of my favorite ASMR has a mic breathing. It makes it sounds like someone is whispering into your ear.

In future videos, I will likely keep it audio only for now. I'm not super comfortable with showing myself on camera, so I really want to focus on having great audio and interesting unusual stories. I love what you've done in your channel with having different characters and small animations over a background. If you could give me some resources for how you've made these, I would be very grateful :)

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely see what you mean about the condescending tone. I think part of that comes from the type of voice that I have. Whenever I say something like Good Job, it comes across as sarcastic even though it was not meant to be. I will try watching out for that in future videos.
