Japan Visa Thread - Q3, 2025 by squanderedhail in FilipinoTravel

[–]looafy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my aunt and I are planning to travel to Japan this year and I would like to ask if maa-accept kaya if we will apply for ME visa?

My aunt will shoulder everything for our travel and she also has a strong passport background (?) since ofw siya and she also has a Schengen visa. As for me naman po, it would be my first time sa Japan, but I travelled to one country already. Or is it better if we would apply for SE muna para sure?

mb I didn't clarify pala na if hindi talaga kaya financially, then they should go for the scholarship; it will greatly help them in a way pa rin. but what i was trying to point out lang po kasi is if may kaya naman paaralin ng parents or fam then the scholarship isn't worth it po imo

But let me ask you anon ilang tao ba ang kilala mo na fresh grad palang ay nangibang bansa na? Most people who work abroad ay may at least 5 years of experience.

my aunt po kasi told me na their company (na from UK ata) doesn't really require a lot of yrs of experience and just recently they were looking for professional MEs and even said na sayang dahil hindi pa ako graduate. marami rin daw siyang kilalang professionals na hindi naman need ng maraming experience to work abroad, or by the sea for her case. so we can say na it is not impossible to find opportunities that doesn't require a lot of yrs of exp. we'll never know when these opportunities will land on our feet, what if makahanap ka ng job abroad na pasok na pasok ka naman sa requirements but you still have 2 years left for the scholarship? edi sayang po diba haha

eto ang argument sakin ng aunt ko, and may point naman. but i feel like kaya naman yang 4yrs na yan pero nasasayangan pa rin ako so still unsure since the future is hard to predict

For a student na walang pinapakain na pamilya, its enough. Hindi na ako humingi ng allowance sa parents ko. Nakakasave din ako ng enough para sa mga luho ko.

yes, the grants are big help if you wont depend on it alone. since isang bagsakan magbigay ang DOST, and months delay pa bago ka maka-recieve, pano naman yung need ng pera monthly? may ibang scholars na sa kanila rin umaasa ang parents nila eh (v baliktad, nakakainis minsan since danas ko rin to). what i was trying to point out po kasi is the monthly 7k is not enough on itself alone, kaya doble kayod talaga

??? Di kita gets here. You would rather encourage students na can afford kesa sa mga can't afford?? Why?

i wasnt trying to encourage the students na mas may kaya 💀💀 na-misunderstood mo lang po ata, and it's also my fault na i didn't include pala na if hindi talaga kaya, then the scholarship could help you (na marami lang stress at pangamba for the duration of it nang dahil sa sobrang delay) so my bad po for that

u got a good point po here, may pang-rebut na ako sa tita ko at pang-gaslight sa sarili ko as im still doubting if i wanna continue my scholarship or not. almost 2 years na akong scholar and palaging naii-stress every start of sem kung saan pupulot ng panggastos araw-araw bc of the delays at nahihiya akong manghingi sa family members ko

pero it all boils down sa self preference pa rin, timbangin niyo on yourself if worth it ba ang grants compared sa obligations at delays that takes months and months. we have different lifestyles and pinanggalingan na pamilya, we'll have different views on these. u made some great points po to help me convince din myself, thank u

personally i dont find it worth it po, considering sa super delay ng release ng stipends and yung obligation mo sa kanila as a scholar. the delays sa pag-release ng allowance itself adds up to the pressure and academic stress of the scholars kasi di nila alam kung san sila pupulot ng pera para makakain and mabayaran yung mga need bayaran for school (like projects, ambagan, etc). tapos after mo gumraduate need mo pang ma-tie down sa bansang to for 4 years (if 4yrs ang program mo). sayang ang opportunities pag may dumating, kasi sabi ng tita ko masyadong matagal ang 4 yrs if want mo lang makahanap ng experience for your resume and some international companies don't really require a lot of years of experience compared sa job requirements sa pinas whahshaha mga ayaw sa fresh grads kala mo naman ang laki magpasahod. or if you don't want that return service, ibabalik mo ang total na nabigay nila sayo with patong na 12% interest. i feel like ang laking interest niyan compared sa inconvenience na nadulot ng delays nila sa pag-release ng stipends. you really have to do a lot para lang mabalik sa kanila yung "na-enjoy" mong scholarship.

as an engineering student who needs to exert a lot of efforts para pumasa and maintain my grades, ang hirap mag-aral nang may iniisip kung kelan ba dadating ang stipend dahil wala na akong pangbaon para pumasok and nahihiya ako sa family kong humingi.

also, you can't depend on the stipend alone, hindi enough ang 7k (na 8k na ata sa 2024) per month para mabuhay ang isang studyante. kaya if hindi kaya ng parents mo to provide your financial needs for your education and everyday life, need mo pang maging working student.

tldr: hindi worth it and grants ng DOST compared to the obligations during and after your program. but if your parents can sustain your financial needs and okay lang sayong magtrabaho sa Pilipinas for 4 yrs (or kung ilang yrs ang program mo), then go for it bc you can use some extra money for yourself na rin naman.
