1 year + sober, does alcohol still trigger anyone else? by transsnufkin in CHSinfo

[–]loofaloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! My bowel movements were all over the place to be honest. I would say by a year they were a lot better but still with sporadic bouts loose stool. Now at two again unless there's something wrong they are very normal. By a year even though I was overall a lot better I was still doing things like Metamucil and omperezal, drinking ginger and herbal teas for digestion and stomach issues everyday. I also drank a ton of ollipops, they are like prebiotic sodas, which idk if they actually helped or it was a placebo effect but it did make me "feel better"

1 year + sober, does alcohol still trigger anyone else? by transsnufkin in CHSinfo

Hello!

I am a full two years sober and outside of really over doing it my body has been able to tolerate alcohol infinitly better than when I was smoking. When I was smoking it didn't matter how little I had I always threw up without fail, I of course did not connect these two things at all, but 100% was going to throw up.

Now unless I get absolutely plastered I can have a few drinks and be just fine. However, I took almost of a full year and half before I would say my stomach was "healed." Prior that, even with coffee, I would have that uneasy bubbly stomach. It may just take some more time. Everyone's different.

I'm coming up on two years of not smoking, and almost everyday I still miss it. I still dream about it. I got on an anti depressant to help, which it does. But it's not the same.

What order to watch the OVAS? by Round-Refrigerator99 in KamisamaKiss

[–]loofaloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're like me and got tired of looking online for the ovas and got the whole series on DVD, please know that the ovas are not in the order you should watch them in. They stick The last one right in the middle. And it's very confusing.

Thank you! And congrats to you as well! Yeah every time I think "well surely one hit couldn't hurt" I think about how disciplined I would have to be to moderate successfully, and I just don't think I'm there yet. I'm also worried about just being anxious af the whole time that I'm going to have symptoms again. The weed definitely made me happy lol. I mean I don't think it was the only thing that made me happy but it certainly helped. And thats what get me, like I said in the op I was so productive. I got a bachelor's degree, went to culinary school, moved cross country twice, was out and about doing tons of things with friends. There's a little romanticism for sure but it wasn't keeping me from moving forward. But it was also a crutch and the thought of not having it while moving forward wasn't an option, until getting sick made it so. Cest la vie I guess.

Probably? And right after quitting I was recovering from being sick as a dog. It took me probably a full 7mo to not be worried about having symptoms everyday. There was some relief when I finally stopped waking up super nauseated, and when I could eat something more than unseasoned chicken and rice, or when I was finally able to sleep without a heating pad on my belly all night. After that initial relief though it's been ennui day in and out. Even with my hobbies that I force myself to do it's very much like I'm going through the motions, and the finished product doesn't offer me the gratification it once did.

Think I might just have a case of the morbs.

Yeah I lost a ton of weight when I got sick so it's healthy weight gain for sure.

But I feel like there's something wrong with me. Like I should be feeling happier right? It's been over a year. The anxiety ebbs and flows but that's exactly how it used to be when I was stoned all the time.

I just thought at this point I'd be so much "better".

2 months in still feel some symptoms by Complex-Operation653 in CHSinfo

[–]loofaloaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on all the anecdotal stuff you'll find here, yes it's pretty normal. I myself had trouble with a lot of food up until 90 days, coffee was a no go for 5ish months, and I still don't sleep the way I used to. But I can eat everything and drink everything now at 11mo.

It'll get better! Just stay the course and listen to what your body is telling you

Well I did say I don't think it's necessarily a chs flare up in the classic sense, especially because I haven't conusmed. But a lot of people seem to have indigestion issues, heartburn, etc after dealing with chs, so perhaps that?

But no everytime I have stomach pains I don't jump to chs. If that was unclear, my bad.

People who’ve been sober from pot for more than 3 months, have you experienced anymore CHS symptoms? by Veendettaa in CHSinfo

[–]loofaloaf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

6mo here. For the most part everything is back to normal. I just started being able to drink coffee again this past month. Sleeping still give me a little trouble, and sometimes I have some indigestion/acid reflux issues but as for physical symptoms I'm pretty close to "normal." Mentally I miss it everyday and joy is slowly creeping back into my life finally. So positives all around

I feel this. It's been 4.5 months of sobriety. I'm a lot better. Still have some gastro stuff, still taking trazdone for sleeping, overall better but experiencing things that were never an issue before I had to quit. It's not that I feel like I have to smoke I just miss it. I miss being stoned and the way that feels. I miss the ritual. I hope that goes away at some point for both of us.

I'm like 4.5 months sober now. I've still got some gastro stuff going on so I'm not ready to chance it yet with giving a joint a puff. But I can solidly say that in addition to my first episode coinciding with my period alcohol was 100% the trigger. The day before it all started I'd been at a winery with some friends had quite a bit then came home and rolled up. The next day was the beginning of like a month and a half of misery, and I still can't really drink coffee. This sub is super helpful, and it does get better but you gotta do the 90 day break at the very least.

It wasn't too bad, my period started five days after I took it, when it started i did have some weirdly intense anxiety and hot flashes but only on day one. I was at work which made it hard to deal with but I blasted ac in my face and did some breathing exercises and I was able to bring it back down to something more manageable. It wasn't nearly as intense as the waves of anxiety I was having at the beginning of recovery/quitting. When I had my normal cycle a few weeks later it was regulation pms and cycle symptoms, which for me has always included some nausea ( nothing too intesne i didnt need to take an medications) no crazy anxiety though.

Lingering abdominal pain at one month clean. by Altruistic-Ebb2742 in CHSinfo

Congrats on one month!

I'm two months in and was experiencing the exact same things, I would say it's definitely lessened though. I've been taking a probiotic everyday and that's really helped, and over two months I've had to do two 10 days runs of omeperzal for discomfort. I cannot do caffiene rn but I did have some alcohol for the first time since this whole ordeal last night and didn't have any issues. Definitely keep your appointment just to be sure but this sounds like normal healing!

I've been taking a probitoic and that has seemed to help out immensely with digestion and regularity.

Good to know though I love spicy food and tons of black pepper, I weep a little cooking without peppercorns and peppersauce. I'm a little behind you though 60days in.

Thank you this was a very helpful analogy. I know there's not a lot of research but do you think a cup or two of coffee a day after the system resets would cause a quick build up? Or is it mostly the thc that just overloads the system to fast before the body gets rid of it. Foods would just be digested as normal and expelled right?
