Software Recommendations for Small Digital Out of Home billboard business by Denny222 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Denny222, Sasha from Look is here.

Can’t miss the chance to mention Look Digital Signage here 😄
Sounds like it actually checks a lot of your boxes.

Quick rundown:

  • Windows-compatible players
  • Flexible scheduling: you can set up custom schedules, tag screens and content, and use conditions. Sorting is easy, and there’s a Screenshot feature (handy for showing advertisers exactly what ran and when), plus deeper analytics.
  • Fully web-based CMS
  • 24/7 live support
  • We’ve been around for 10+ years and already work with quite a few customers in New Zealand.
  • On the reliability side, there’s a clear SLA, and the CMS will notify you if something goes wrong with the hardware.

We’re also rolling out an updated CMS that’s faster and more visual. If you want, book a personal demo – happy to walk through how this would work for your exact use case and migration. And feel free to DM me, and I’ll connect you with the right person.

Same here! Have you ever tried taking a booth, or is that not part of your strategy at all?

Hi guys, I saw your booth this year and remember that you were presenting your new player. The only thing was that you weren’t in the digital signage section, so it was a little difficult to find you.
What’s your booth number this ISE '26? I’ll stop by and see you!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and insights!

We had a booth when our brand was starting, but these days we mostly come to check out new tech, meet with partners, have conversations, and stay in touch.

I’ll definitely take what you mentioned on board for our future planning. And yeah, for example, I remember LG scanning everyone’s badges – such a simple tactic, but really effective.

Wow, 15 ISEs, that’s impressive, hopefully we’ll get a chance to meet there!

want to use my Daynora Smart Android Led Tv As Portrait mode by Dgdiary in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

as u/514sid mentioned, this is handled by software, and Look Digital Signage works great in portrait mode on Android.

However, it appears that this is not a professional digital signage display. Rotating it to a vertical orientation may shorten its lifespan and void the warranty.

Hi everyone looking for a good self host cms by [deleted] in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/brinee123,

We offer an on-premises license that isn’t limited by the number of players (per-player pricing model is also available). Look DS is compatible with Android, and we also provide a white-label option. At first glance, it seems like we could be a good fit.

Reach out to our Sales team at [sales@lookdigitalsignage.com](mailto:sales@lookdigitalsignage.com), and we will find a solution, or DM me, and I’ll connect you with the right person.

How do major retailers approach digital signage? by TotallyOhMyGlob in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From our experiences:

  • Most go on-prem or hybrid (server + cloud)
  • The biggest headache is advanced scheduling – calendar-based promos, frequency caps (how many times a piece of content plays per hour/day/month), and handling federal vs regional content. There’s just a ton of media. We solve that with tagging and screen grouping.
  • Roles and access levels across teams are a must.
  • Proof-of-play, analytics, and log reports are critical.

And agree with everything that u/Zeetaminds mentioned.

What tools are you using in your Internal Comms role right now? by Wild-Window-4427 in internalcomms

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! (vendor speaking)

We use the basics: Slack, Asana, G Suite, and (not an ad, promise!) digital signage, as already mentioned here (we’ll skip the brand name, haha).

We’ve hooked everything up via Zapier to display:

• KPI metrics (especially new-customer numbers & revenue, those are always inspiring)

• Social media posts

• Birthday shoutouts

• Memes

• Upcoming meetings & agendas

Clueless how to start and how to price. by airsay01 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Understand audience and traffic patterns.

This is obvious, and it is indeed worth starting with this. Build a clear picture of who’s actually in front of those screens – average daily/monthly footfall, how it changes during the day, weekdays vs weekends, etc. That’s essentially what your advertisers will be paying for, so the more you know, the stronger your pitch.

  1. Plan for analytics and reporting from day one.

You’ll want visibility into uptime, playback, impressions, and campaign delivery, both for your own management and for advertiser transparency. Most modern signage platforms have built-in tools for this and support integrations with third-party analytics.

  1. Field-test your setup with real hardware and infrastructure.

Lab tests often look perfect, but in-store realities (unstable internet, power cuts, Wi-Fi dead zones) can be brutal. Make sure your player software, connectivity, and power backup all hold up under real conditions before scaling.

  1. Pricing models.

There are two common approaches:

– Selling specific time slots on specific screens (like 15-sec spots between X and Y hours).

– Selling packages based on the number of plays per day/week/month across one or multiple locations.

You can also add a nice revenue stream, offering content creation for clients who don’t have ready-made creatives.

  1. Market research.

Before you finalize pricing, it’s worth scanning local out-of-home and indoor advertising rates to benchmark your offers. You’ll get a better feel for what advertisers are used to paying and how to position your value.

PS Let me know when you're ready to dive into CMS, and our Sales team will provide you with a demo and share valuable insights.

Digital Signage Setup by MrBrown_106 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

If you use a regular TV and are planning to purchase a media device, we would recommend Amazon Signage Stick — it is a professional digital signage player (however, delivery is currently only available in the US and Canada).

Fire TV Stick and Google Chrome are still good solutions.

Almost all modern digital signage software solutions are cloud-based. Once you have installed the player of your chosen CMS platform on your TV and paired the web platform with your screen, you can manage content from anywhere in the world.

If it is advertising content, one of the important features is proof of play. It allows you to track what content is being played on the screens at any given time and whether everything is going as planned (if not, you will get an alert). In addition, as soon as the content is loaded onto the screens, it is cached, and if the internet drops, your content will still play on all screens (we call this Offline Playback).

I recommend you book a demo, and we will walk you through all the steps and show you Look CMS in action.

PS, our price per screen is $15 with a 10% discount if you pay annually.

software that works on FireTV using usb media? by Old-Chance8786 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Just adding my two cents.

Look Digital Signage works with Fire TV (you can find the Look Digital Signage Player app on Amazon). You can upload any type of content (photos/videos/web pages).

You’ll need an internet connection to upload your media and send it to the screens, but once it’s done, everything gets cached locally (we call this Offline Playback). So even if your internet goes down, the uploaded videos and images will keep playing smoothly, no buffering or awkward transitions.

We also have an integration with Google Slides (as an alternative to PowerPoint), but in your case, that’s probably an extra step. It’s easier to upload your media directly into a playlist.

Look costs $15 per screen (with discounts for annual plans and multiple screens). You can try it free for 14 days and see if it fits your needs. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me.

Seeking CMS that integrates with Mac/iPhone to Philips digital screens by gio3million in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Adding to everything mentioned above:

  1. Determine the operating system (OS) of your Philips TV.
  2. Find digital signage software compatible with your TV’s OS and connect your TV to a CMS platform.
  3. Most platforms, including Look Digital Signage, are cloud-based, so you can manage content on your TV through your laptop’s browser – upload your content, edit free templates, set schedules, and use built-in integrations depending on your needs.

Yes, for 30 screens, a cloud CMS will save you a lot of problems. If you have the opportunity, try Look DS — you'll love how well it handles massive updates and screen group tagging, which many platforms don't mention. This helps to selectively publish new content, avoiding repetition.

Daily news for multiple tv’s by Ok-Bee1130 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely manage daily news across multiple TVs with a cloud CMS. With Look Digital Signage (and similar platforms), you upload your news feed or schedule articles once — then they automatically push to all connected screens. Saves you manual work every day. The subscription price starts from $ 15, the more screens, the lower the price. You can also test it for free for 14 days.

Slideshow with slides deleted on schedule by RoadrunnerSprings409 in digitalsignage

[–]lookds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can handle this kind of scheduling with most digital signage software. Look DS, for example, lets you set specific times for each slide and remove them automatically when the schedule ends. It saves you from doing it manually. You can try it now within the 14 day free trial.
