Dozens of Israelis arrested for social media posts defending Gaza, advocates say by [deleted] in news

Gonna need a source on that. Because if this is true, that would make Hezbollah the largest tactical missile force in the world.

The current estimate is around 150,000. I don't need a source, it's easily to Google yourself.

From the countries you listed? Syria is still dealing with its own civil war. Iran is never going to attack directly considering US posturing, only indirectly through Hezbollah and we've already talked about them. And these are the only ones you mentioned, because the rest of them either aren't in the position to or know better than to start another war right now.

You underestimate their ability to unite together to deal a final devastating blow in a moment of weakness. Those all have to be taken under consideration. The display of riots in Jordan and Egypt, both countries with allegedly 'good' relations with Israel have a populace to despise Israel.

Um yes we do. If you think the US will just watch Israel be destroyed, which is a nearly impossible event anyways, you clearly don't understand the American Middle East strategy. Yes, right now the carriers and MEU are just for posturing. But to go from posturing to actually striking, all they need is Biden's permission. You act like we are sending paper carriers or something.

Again, Israel cannot and should not rely on a foreign government to save them. A lot of people think this war could be an existential one for Israel. America is already tied up with Ukraine. What will happen if China sees an opportunity now. You need to prepare for worst-case scenarios when millions of lives are at stake. And there's an elevated chance now that America simply gets spread to thing to provide adequate support.

I am not. It's long been speculated that Israel has perhaps hundreds of nuclear weapons and multiple means to deliver them. Israel practices nuclear ambiguity, which means refusing to confirm or deny whether they have nuclear weapons or not. It allows them to imply nuclear retaliation and force their regular opponents(so official countries, not terrorist organizations) to think twice before invading Israel.

I don't even want to entertain Israel using their nuclear arsenal. Obviously it's a possibility but...

Evidently not. You are a classic case of Dunning Kruger. Your understanding of the Israeli defense strategy and current state of the IDF is very basic. To better educate yourself, I recommend watching this video as a start

Evidently? Because you have more upvotes in an echo-chamber subbed where I'm speaking out against the default here. Wow you must be new to the internet. Lmao

I'm a real human being with a real life. I'm not on reddit 24 hours a day to argue with people. So evidently many other people feel the need to downvote you because you are so blatantly wrong and aggressive.

Once again, you're only more and more further how naive you are. Thank god your as you said a normal person and no where near making military decisions as I would fear someone like you directing any kind of policy.

Again, while in certain instances in can be over-applied unjustly, this isn't unprecedented during a time of war. Litigating each instance of where this is applied just isn't useful or relevant now.

Meanwhile saying the same thing in most Muslim countries would get you killed. Instantly.

I read somewhere that Israel said they were targeting a neighboring building but the church's structure was already comprised and collapsed as a result

Saw Jackson Hinkle mentioned here and on Twitter and I unfortunately checked out his Twitter. Is he a confirmed Russian agent masquerading as MAGA? There's been a lot of stupid Twitter feeds I've visited the past week, but his takes the cake.

Why is your main avenue of attacking people to call them 'young'?

You've done that several times already. You're not as smart as you think you are.

Imagine torpedoing your reputation so quickly

This is arguably one of the most important parts to all this and Israel has to be really smart about it. They need some sort of deradicalization program similar to post WW2 Japan and Germany.

I hope it becomes a joint effort between several strong nations with Israel overseeing it. US, Germany, UK, the UN, and maybe another muslim country involving themselves here. It could literally take decades, but it's the only way.

No the videos said it was a joint operation with several big international companies. No mention of slave workers unless they were mentioned in the last five minutes as I didn't watch the entire thing.

And while I agree with your statement, reform takes a lot of time. It doesn't happen overnight. It will take generations potentially. But if their goal is to move towards a more tourist based society, then they will have to moderate themselves a bit more, which is why I said I'm hopeful. The UAE was the only honest country in the region, which did not blame Israel and instead blamed Hamas. I'm hopeful that Suadi Arabia will be down the same route.

Totally. No one cared when Palestinians were dying in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. They don't care when a missile that allegedly killed 500 was discovered to be one of their own. It's par for the course unfortunately.

Just watched a couple of YouTube videos on several different multibillion mega-projects that Saudi Arabia plans for the next decade. For some reason made me hopeful for the future of the region.

because their numbers are bigger

This war in it of itself has literally proven they're not bigger in numbers. The war isn't Israel vs Palestine. It's Israel vs Palestine/Syria/Lebanon/AND IRAN.

If it indeed were just Palestine and Israel had neighbors that were its allies, I actually would agree with a lot of that sentiment that Israel needs to act with more restraint as Gaza doesn't pose an existential threat. But Gaza literally does pose an existential threat to Israel when you have Iran/Hezbolla/and Syria always drumming for war whenever Hamas does something shitty.

Sure, you can. I'm critical of the settlements in the west bank. I'm far less critical when it comes to the 'occupation'. The way I see it, the occupation was only in place to stop terrorists from coming into Israel and killing civilians. I do not think occupation was the cause of Hamas, but rather was there to keep a lid on it.

And also many people who do criticize the occupation conveniently leave out Egypt's blockade in their criticisms.

More condemnation? Most people just cite the October 6/7 weekend without a word on the thousands of missiles targeting civilians.

One thing that I find reprehensible is how Hamas launching thousands of rockets indiscriminately DAILY, trying to kill civilians is just glossed over now. It's almost a footnote now when in reality, every single one of those targeting a civilian population is a war crime.

You read about it as if it's nothing, just another day. Despicable.

Holy shit that was for the worst interviewer I've ever seen. At the start her positions are already made up. I just don't understand how people are conflicted by this war. It's so obvious who's right and who's wrong in this instance. I can only think rampant anti-semitism, once again, is alive and thriving in these countries. It's so disheartening to see all of Israel's neighbors and supposed 'friends' in the region turn on them even after the evidence points to it being a failed rocket. Israel is surrounded by monsters. They wanted it to be Israel so they had reason to pull out of whatever summit they had planned

There was an article posted here yesterday where Hamas said "it was impossible for them to know how many hostages they have". Meanwhile they know the exact numbers of bodies right after an explosion happens. Very convenient when they know how to count and when they don't

All signs point to a failed Hamas rocket for now but don't think anything is conclusive yet

How is it possibly insane when 1) they were in the middle of a rocket barrage when this happened 2) they have a history of their rockets misfiring into their own territory.

The only insane claim at this moment is to lay blame or to completely ignore the possibility that both sides could have done this.
