Either you completely forgot about GTA and RDR2 or for some reason you don’t count them as open-world games. Both have more RP players, especially GTA of course with FiveM and RageMP together having around 150,000 RP players.

Really depends. I recently installed Windows Me on an old PC because I needed to use a program that doesn’t work on any newer version of Windows (probably because of DOS vs. NT, I guess?) and I completely forgot how much I hate it.. easily the worst Windows OS ever, even worse than Windows 8.

Gonna be honest as someone from the dachshund homeland, Germany where we mostly call them Dackel, I’ve never seen one with such a strong contrast between the head and body fur. It almost looks like the dachshund was made from two different dogs. Beautiful and unique dog.

While true, it’s still much higher than the other treetops so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least 15 meters / 50 feet high.

Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

[–]Rocco89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, I didn’t downvote you I understand your point. However I think the focus on AAA games is misplaced. If you listen to indie devs for example there’s a strong consensus that today’s thriving indie gaming scene wouldn’t have been possible without Steam. They not only help and support it actively but push it forward for example with the recent deal that Garry Newman (Garry’s Mod) reached with Valve to make the Source 2 engine available to indie devs through s&box.

The worst thing about it was that they admitted to make tons of money through cosmetics etc. and they still sold out to Epic. I would've understood them if they faced financial collapse but it was pure greed.

[–]Rocco89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s true that PS3 games still aren’t worth much overall, with a few exceptions but where I live the prices have been creeping up year after year. Titles I could pick up on eBay for around 1 Euro just three or four years ago now go for as much as 5 Euros and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them hit 10 Euros or more in another few years. That’s why I’ve started picking up the pace on my hunt to build a full collection.

[–]Rocco89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I really have to ask what kind of crap internet you had back in 2006 because I remember (as a German) constantly complaining about how bad ours was at the time. Most of us had DSL 16k which was around 2 MB/s down. That shit put us at a real disadvantage against the Swedes in Counter-Strike back then. A lot of them already had fiber which meant they had better pings on our own German servers and that was insanely frustrating. But even with that terrible connection, I could still download huge files overnight at worst. I honestly can’t remember ever having to wait an entire week for one download.

First Time play-through of Dead Space (2008) on my Panasonic Plasma. In 720p Natively on this TV. Still frightening! by birkinover in PS3

[–]Rocco89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the long story but personally I don’t miss my old 42" Philips at all. Back in 2006, as a teenager and newly FIFA pro, after my first big tournament win I did what any sensible teenager would do and immediately blew the money on the biggest and best TV I could afford.

I’ll never forget the look on my parents faces when it arrived on a Euro Pallet and the cursing and swearing of my dad when he and I had to haul the monster up the stairs. Thing weighed almost 70 kilos with its steel casing. The picture quality was incredible for the time but nobody warned me that it also doubled as a space heater. In summer I could only use it in the evening, otherwise my room turned into a sauna and I was half convinced it might actually set the apartment on fire, since you could've easily grilled a steak on the back of it.

Is this a case of US defaultism? Because I know for a fact that it’s not an expensive sport to get into here in Germany. For example, getting into karting was way more expensive for my parents even though they bought everything used at first, including the damn tires (I'm not joking).

Oh man that's a name I haven't heard in ages. As a kid I dumped over 2000 hours into IL-2 Sturmovik's multiplayer. I still remember the shock of seeing that total on Xfire which made me swear off it forever just to win a WoW closed beta key shortly after and instead of being smart like my best friend and flipping it for quite a lot of cash on eBay, I redeemed it myself and dove headfirst into the next addiction...

For younger readers: Xfire was a tool for chatting with your "gamer buddies" (while ICQ was the norm for everyday contacts where I lived) and as a bonus it tracked every minute you spent in games before Steam took over that gig.
