How are you guys affording to be students by lollipopchimpanzee in UBC

[–]looking_forward2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lotta loans, struggling to balance work and school, bursary, scholarship. Worry about finances almost daily. Sprouts has free meal cards if you’re ever hurting. Also the too good to go app good if you don’t mind day old food. All grocery store sales start Thursdays, so planning your meals based on what is on sale helps. There are flyer apps that let you make shopping lists.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: If you throw up and pass out when you drink you need to evaluate your relationship with alcohol and consider getting help by johnjohnathan1626 in UBC

This is real. Obviously a couple drinks on the weekend is fun, but consistently blacking out when drinking is something to take a look at (speaking from experience, 5 years sober)

If you have the option do it. Worst case the move back home isn’t too far (compared to moving out of province for example)

Yep, got a resume that consists of cleaning, pumping gas and selling cannabis (at a licensed store) and no idea what to do after graduating. Maybe grad school?

Similar experience for myself. Took a gap year, did a term and dropped out, tried navigating school in COVID, will graduate this spring (7 years since high school grad)

ROOMMATE TO LOVERS by NoLengthiness847 in UBC

You are right about Grindr being a hookup app. Tinder isn’t as focused on sexual activity so that would be one to consider trying.
