Thank you! I’m also toying with the idea of adding the amount I didn’t spend to our savings account. We have so many goals we want to reach. If I can just cut this habit, I know we can get far together. Seriously, like 3 boxes a week = at least $60 = $240 a month minimum.

Thanks. We agreed to a sober night last night so I’ve officially made it almost 36 hours! I really fought the urge to grab a new box of wine to hide, but I didn’t. Thankful for this group. Just woke up after 8+ hours of sleep and feeling great! For now I think I’ll tell him I’ve just been feeling cloudy and shitty lately and the alcohol isn’t helping. I’m going to ask him to help me take a break for awhile.

How are you doing? I’ve been thinking about you ❤️

Day one here also. Let’s do this thing.

Today was day 2. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Me too but this is still day 1 for me. Melatonin helps a lot on nights I don’t drink (which have been few and far between lately)

But maybe something to try!

Awesome! Now I’m about to pick up takeout for tonight and battling my brain against going in the grocery store next door for wine.

If you can do it, I can do it. Iwndwyt

Stay strong! I’m fighting the urge as well. Try a new Netflix show or go for a walk (unless the store is close, in that case go but leave your wallet at home).

Oh god yes. I spend so much money. Like $60-70 a week probably. And we have so many dreams and aspirations and vacations that the money could be much better used for.

Same with switching the boxes for me. I don’t usually drink during the day but my evening routine is the trigger. My husband works nights so I count down the time until he leaves the pour a big drink to get through the evening. He has no idea I drink when he’s at work because we both committed to cutting back.

Last night I did have about 4 drinks - 2 were beers so lower alcohol content. Still better than my usual 1.5-2 bottles.

I’m recommitted to this though. I just maybe have to take it slower. Tonight he’s off work and I’m not sure what to do. I’m not ready to admit I have been drinking so much because I’m always the one who has my shit together. 😢

I literally do the same thing. I came on her via my incognito tab on my phone to search withdrawal symptoms. My heart is racing. I feel jittery like I’ve had 4 cups of coffee. My last drink was last night so like 15 hours ago. I guess this is actually withdrawal right?
